I understand it can be a little risky. If that is not recommended what other over the counter methods are there?

There is NOTHING over the counter that works on genital warts. Do not put anything over the counter on your penis my dear, you will do youself serious damage. Wanna end up in the ER with compound W issues? I think not.

You're going to need to see a Urologist for a check up and then tell the doctor what's going on. You need to be examined by a doctor and given prescription treatment.

The virus that causes HPV warts is not the same as warts on your foot, or a wart on your hand. The viruses are all different and the TREATMENT is totally different.

The female you have been having sex with is in danger of getting CERVICAL CANCER from this, so you better let her know about it and tell her what your doctor says about your wart situation. She could end up having to have surgery, it can cause infertility and it IS the cause of certain cancers in women. Even if she doesn't have warts, she could have the virus or even cancer on her cervix (deep inside) so please be honest with her.

Good luck and make sure you get in with your doctor asap!!

I'm assuming you have exophytic warts or warts that stick out(genital warts). First of all, HPV is human papilloma virus, and there are over 100 different strains, including the strain that causes common warts. These are spread through skin-to-skin contact.

But that is where their similarity ends. Not all warts cause cervical cancer in women, and the HPV vaccine does not protect against them all.

Genital warts are caused primarily by viral types 6 and 8. Neither of these types cause cervical cancer in women, but can be transferred through skin-to-skin contact.

CompoundW and other topical treatments can cause scarring and may not completely remove the virus. It is best to see your doctor for the appropriate cream.

Cervical cancer is caused by a group of HPV viruses causing flat warts, of which the viral types 16 and 18 make up 75% of infections, but not all.

See your doctor for treatment. Currently there are no at home remedies.

yes it can. but it could be something else. i got high risk hpv 3 months ago. but my paps are normal, im just carrying the virus for now. theres a 90% chance that your body will fight it off. and the better immunity you have the better. the other 10% will keep it the rest of their lives and half of them may get cervical cancer. get tested every year. its pretty normal to get hpv, 80% of people have had it once in their lives. its like chicken pox. good luck!
