You definitely need to have your blood evaluated. All of these symptoms run in the diabetes family. Get a checkup with your family doctor as soon as possible.

I found a great article on it. It should help. Here is a part of the full article:
Two of the classic symptoms of diabetes – both type 1 and type 2 – are frequent urination and a seemingly insatiable thirst. It may feel like all the moisture is being drained from your body, no matter how hard you try to replenish the supply. Moderate thirst, and subsequent urination due to increased fluid intake, is a natural response to dehydration; obviously, it doesn’t signal diabetes one hundred percent of the time. But if your thirst seems excessive – you’re waking in the night to drink, and can never seem to get enough – and it is accompanied by other symptoms such as unintentional weight loss and fatigue, it’s worth a trip to the doctor for a thorough diabetes screening.

I hope this helps.

The actual name of diabetes caused by inadequate Anti-Diuretic Hormone (ADH) is called Diabetes Insipidus. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is the type of diabetes you normally hear about. DM contains both "Type I and Type II" Diabetes and has do do with either an autoimmune destruction of the pancreas so that no insulin can be released (Type I) or a peripheral tissue resistance to insulin (Type II) Type I usually presents at young age and is associated with people of normal weight. Type II usually occurs at older ages and is associated with obesity, although these days kids are a lot fatter than they used to be and Type II is showing up in younger populations as well. Your symptoms could be either type I or Type II Diabetes as I don't know your history. However, no one has mentioned Diabetes Insipidus on this page yet which could also be your problem. It can be managed by taking a simple pill to replace the ADH that is not being emitted from your pituitary gland. You should go see a doctor to get this problem solved right away. Prolonging your appointment my exacerbate your condition.

Possibly the meds your takng for your current condition might be a cause. Could be several reasons. The best thing to do is contact your physician. Your MD will want to know the length of this problem and he can narrow it down to a few. Sometimes frequent urination etc.. might be a sign of diabetes.. but not being an MD. I would seek out professional answers.. Good luck.

You have described some classic symptoms of Type I Diabetes ( diabetes insipidus). The cause is a sufficient lack of anti-diuretic hormone ( Vassopressin)causing frequent urination and excessive thirst.Type I Diabetes can occur at any age, gradually or suddenly. You need to see your MD for proper diagnosis and treatment, usually with medication of Vasopressin and others in a nasal spray or tablets. Take care. SW FNP

I agree with the others, frequent urination and the feeling of a dry mouth where you can't satisfy your thirst no matter how much you drink are the first signs of diabetes. Time to go get a blood test...

there's this person in your home town that is called a doctor and that doctor is very well educated in the area of health and physical problems like the one you're describing. you should see this doctor whenever you have physical problems like this so that the doctor can do what is called an examination. if there is a real problem the doctor can give you a diagnosis. with a diagnosis you can then learn the best way to respond to your problem. the doctor will help you learn about what you should do. you should never rely on strangers who may or may not know what they're talking about, especially when it comes to your very own health, which is very important and serious, right?

Get tested for diabetes. I know it's no fun, and almost scary, but it's the best thing you can do right now. I had those exact same symptoms before I was diagnosed. Luckily I was caught early enough. So I would suggest getting the test done now rather than later. If you do have diabetes, and you have any questions, or need support, you can email me at katinka11@pacbell.net. Mkay?
