Ponderosa has their wings to-go. Everyone will eat chicken wings, and you don't have to cook at all.

Housewarming parties are well... heart-warming! You can either serve a dish of nachos or some bean dip and some Tostidos on the side. Or you can just put a big plate of salami and cheese with some Tapatio and lemon on top and
TA-DA!!!!!! There's your quick and easy food to serve at a housewarming party!

I think the best idea is to serve a "bar".

For example you could call a high end pizzeria and buy gourmet pizzas. Estimate a half pizza for each guest. They are generally pretty small. Most restaurants will par bake the pizza so you can reheat it in the oven at your house. Cook 2 pizzas at a time. Make sure that you cut them in small slices or squares. That way everyone gets a taste. When those are gone, put another two in the oven. And make a salad bar with all the traditional salad fixings - lettues, tomatoes, cukes, peppers, onions. Serve olives, cheeses, artichokes, boiled eggs, sesame seeds, croutons, etc. on the side. Don't forget lots of dressing options.

Another option is a pasta bar. Penne or bow ties usually stick the together the least. You definitely need to have crock pots for this. Generally you can borrow them though. Most people have them. Make a bolognese sauce, an alfredo sauce and a marinara. On the side serve steamed veggies, grilled sausage and chicken, a dish of roasted garlic and different types of Italian cheeses. You can serve this with a mixed salad with Italian dressing and bread.

Taco bar. 'Nuff said.

Another option is a sandwich salad bar. Make tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, and ham salad. Just make sure you have really good and varied recipes and good bread. Have sliced onions, lettues and tomato ready. You can serve this with a basic pasta salad or soup. If you choose soup you need a crock pot and hot/cold disposable cups.

If you want to make something instead of buying those platters at the supermarkets, you can :
- butter some little toast and spread the black (or red or both) fish eggs, or little pieces of smoked salmon (very good !), or dry salami or proscuitto with sour pickles
- In yogurt, put garlic, salt peper and fresh chives, it's a great dip
- Cheese platter with french bread (Boursin is very good, gruyere too, Chaume, all french)
- Fruit salad (with a little touch of dark rhum and a splah of orange juice)
- Quiche is very easy and quick to make. But use salted pork without the white fat, and as cheese use gruyère
- Wrap bacon around a pitless prune, stick a tooth pick in it, and cooked them in a pan with butter (not too much)

Well here is a few different ideas, I have tons of other, but depending on how long you want to spend in the kitchen.

And congratulations for your new home, it's always exciting

Have fun at the party

The link below has some great easy appetizers. I made the Tortilla Rollups appetizer for the super bowl and it was simple and good :-)

INGREDIENTS
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
4 green onions, finely chopped
1/4 cup salsa
4 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
10 (10 inch) flour tortillas

DIRECTIONS
In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, green onions, salsa and Cheddar cheese.
Spread the cream cheese mixture on the tortillas. Roll the tortillas and refrigerate about 4 hours before slicing into 1 inch long pieces.

We served chili with all the trimmings, I made a meat and cheese platter, bought a shrimp platter, and made a bread bowl hummus dip and served it with chips. And a tray of mixed olives. And my husband made Swedish meatballs in the crockpot. It all got rave reviews. It was a good mix of hot and cold food. I even had to give out recipes!

for my housewarming party i served nachos. i bought velveta cheese and put in it a crock pot to melt it and keep it warm, i cooked ground beef and drained it and put it in a bowl. for the toppings i put olives, sour cream, refried beans, jalapenos, guacamole, and tomatoes into their own seperate bowls. as well as chips. everyone served themselves so the could put what the wanted on their food. it was really easy for clean up also because i used paper plates and bowls.

u can also do fruit and veggie trays, hot wings, dips and chips, for finger foods.

You can get frozen appetizers at the grocery store and heat them in the oven for about 20 minutes. I've tried quite a few and they're really pretty good, nobody would know they were frozen. Or, you can pick up a tray of meat/cheese at the grocery store in the deli section.

Well, it depends on your budget. Cold shrimp and cocktail sauce is always good. Another suggestion is get TGIF's spinach dip (you can buy it in freezer section of grocery store), warm up the taco chips....serve salsa on side...yummy. I also like to take taco chips, place on baking pan, sprinkle with mexican mixed cheeses and melt under broiler (careful, cheese browns fast), serve with salsa. Veggie trays and fresh fruit tray is always a winner.
