I got my first abnormal pap about 2 years ago now. I was really upset.. but I had an idea since I had like 2 warts for a couple months before that.

Mine don't go away :(

I've had them frozen, burned with chemicals and I use some creme that costs $170 for a tiny (and I mean tiny) tube. They always come back.. immediately.

I am so self-concious I can't even enjoy being with my husband the way I should.

The worst part is- I know I will get cervical cancer and I'm already having problems trying to get pregnant. I plan to have two more children asap but I don't think it will be possible.

I didn't know anything about HPV... and I took sex ed. I thought you could only get "warts" from someone else with it- turns out you can get it with hand to genital contact. It's very easily spread.

People that oppose the vaccine are insane.

HPV really doesn't cause men health problems like it can women. Sure, it can cause genital warts for them, but it RARELY causes anything else for them. HPV can cause penile and anal cancer but this is EXTREMELY RARE and it's not always caused by HPV. Cervical cancer is almost always caused by HPV.

I've read in the US ALONE, 10,000 women were diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2006. Of those 10,000 women, 4,000 of them will die from it.

And, about 1 in 100,000 men WORLDWIDE will develop penile cancer every year.

Even though HPV can, and does, affect both men and women, it causes more health problems for women. So, for many men, including your ex, they probably just shrug it off because more likely then not it won't cause them any serious health problems like it can women.

Men are the ones who carry the HPV virus, giving it to women.............protection always is the answer.
