Yes I believe there is a medical procedure. Just have him check with his doctor!~!~ I believe its a minor surgery. My friend had sleep apnea and he had the surgery and now no longer snores and doesn't have to wear that cumbersome machine when he sleeps anymore. They can do a sleep study test to make sure he doesn't have sleep apnea also. As for my hubby as long as he sleeps on his side he doesn't snore!!

Snoring can often be a by-product of sleep apnea, a condition involving airway passage issues and how you breathe when you sleep. It can have serious consequences as it may affect the oxygen in your blood and increase red blood cell count to an undesirable level. If you wake up tired or are often fatigued during the day, it would be a good bet to check it out. This can be done by going to a sleep study center, and having a legitimate licensed PSG (polysomnogram) which can diagnose sleep apnea and other possible problem conditions. If snoring is a medical/physical problem, a PSG will surface that issue, and there are many treatments that will improve the condition once diagnosed.

Good Luck

Snoring is a very unsociable condition that can cause many sleepless nights for those not afflicted.

Making your spouse or partner suffer through snoring does not have to continue however.

Here are four inexpensive methods to help you stop snoring. Maybe you can find something that will work for you here before you consider more costly remedies.

Try Sleeping Supine

A lot of people snore simply because they sleep with their mouths open. When the nasal passages and throat vibrate the familiar snoring sound escapes through the mouth.

When a snorer sleeps on their stomach however, it forces them to sleep with their mouths closed. The throat and nasal passages still vibrate, but the noise has nowhere to go, thus no snoring and peaceful sleep for all.

Lubricate The Nasal Passages

A more severe form of vibration and in turn snoring, is caused when the nasal passages are dry. This usually occurs from sleeping with your mouth open or when you are suffering from a cold.

Try using a lubricating throat spray, this can help moisturize the throat and nasal passages thus relieving the vibration. This method is a great alternative for people who do not want to deal with uncomfortable or expensive stop snoring devices.

Use A Nasal Separator

A nasal separator is a small stop snoring device that fits into both the nostrils and lifts them outwards.

This opens up the airway and allows more air through. Getting more air to flow through is one way to lessen the amount of vibration. This device looks similar to a nose plug, that works in reverse.

Use Pillows

This method is really simple, place a pillow in between your legs and sleep on your side.

Although this may be uncomfortable at first, sleeping on your side helps you to keep your mouth closed. This traps the sound of the vibrations, keeping them from getting out and keeping your partner awake.

This is perhaps one of the easiest and cheapest ways to stop snoring. It avoids having to purchase an expensive stop snoring device and utilizes something that you already have around your house, a pillow.

These four ways to stop snoring are all simple and inexpensive. You should certainly try these before you look for more expensive remedies such as those available at you local pharmacy or physician.

You very likely suffer from sleep apnea as well.

Get a CPAP machine. The doctor will send you to a provider. They will bring a machine to your home and instruct you how to attach some electrodes. You will use it a few days and they will come pick up the equipment. They will evaluate the results when you are done and determine what type of machine and apparatus you need.

The machine provides constant pressure so you don't stop breathing (sleep apnea) It works! Snoring will cease and you'll get more rest.

There could be. When I was younger, my huge tonsils got in the way of my breathing. I used to scare my brother because he thought my snoring was a monster chasing him in his dreams. After I had my tonsils removed, my brother and I were both able to sleep better.

One of my previous co-workers had a problem called sleep apnea. It is a condition when someone might snore but mostly stops breathing, sometimes up to a minute, before their brain wakes them up to breathe. If there is a chance he has this, then he should see a specialist.

I still snore occasionally (I sometimes snore so loud that I wake myself up O_o ). To help stop it, I sleep on my side. This helps because when a person sleeps on their back, their tongue will roll back into their throat and cause snoring. If you get him to sleep on his side, get him one of those neck support pillows. Also, if you gently elbow him in the ribs when he starts snoring, it may sometimes get him to stop.

There is a gadget available in US & Canada which shakes/nods you up, as soon as snoring commences. You can then re-adjust your posture, without disturbing others. Repeat, whenever and as many times, necessary. Others won't be disturbed, nor will you be ever embarrassed. I have some friends in US/Canada who are fairly senior citizens, in respectable positions, and few of them who have this snoring problem, use this gadget, effectively, so as NOT to disturb their loved ones, while maintaining self-respect / individual-dignity.

Use this gadget effectively and seriously. Good Luck!
