I'm not on any medication and I've been diabetic for a couple years. When do I have to worry about my levels? What is considered really high?

I work in a lab, and unless you are always this high (which you must be), most people would be passed out if there sugars jumped to 400. We call anything above 400 a panic level. You really need to work on lowering this number. It is not healthy to stay at. You want to get it to somewhere between 80-120. Most diabetics are happy if they are below 180. You should be worried about your levels now. talk to your doctor and get on meds. Hope this helps.

Anything over 200 is considered diabetic. Normal and healthy is 100 or less. You have over 4 times the healthy amount and double what is already considered diabetic. You are in danger of ending up in a coma.

The above site has what to look for and so forth.

Have you tried the South Beach Diet? My doctor had me do it cause I was pre-diabetic. It worked. It got me off the sugar I was on. I didn't need to lose weight, I just needed to get off the sugar. Since you don't want to take medication, you can try to reduce it through diet.

You can go blind, lose limbs - lots of bad things will happen if you continue as you are now.

Yes this is very bad. You will need to consult with a doctor to see what is the best treatment for you. It will help some to control your diet and keep a journal of what you eat and when. You will also need to monitor your blood sugar often at different times to get a accurate level. Some food will make sugar go real high you will need to experiment and find safe solutions for yourself. Watch your carbs. they raise sugar. Some medicine will raise sugar too. Look on internet and you can find alot of good recipes for diabetics to try for free. Some people can control sugar level by diet others need medicine.

Good Lord, it's amazing you haven't had a stroke! 100 is normal, and anything over 200 is considered dangerously high. Get to a doctor NOW and get taken care of! I've had it for about 5 years, and I'm lucky that I can be diet controlled, but there's no way that you should avoid taking medication, if not insulin. Even my dog has it--she was laying around the house, with no energy whatsoever, and when the vet checked her, HER blood sugar was lower than yours. If we hadn't gotten her in and gotten her on insulin, she would have died!

That is an extremely high level of blood sugar!

the normal range is between 80-180 if you don't see your doctor and start medication your body will become a wreck and your pancreas will get worse and more unable to process your bodily sugars

get into that doctor ASAP before any other trigger effects happen

that is high-too high. 3 years ago this week I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and mine was 500 fasting and 700+ during the day. I had an incompetent doctor and it took a few days for him to even thing I needed insulin. By the time I was on insulin I was very very sick. Don't let this go please see a doctor, now.

that is consider very high, but if your diabetic you should know this. over time if you continue to let your sugar remain high you will get kidney failure, blurred vision possibly go blind, go into shock, seizure, start vomiting possibly pass out and aspirated on this. why are you not using insulin and eating right, seeing a doctor regularly, a normal sugar is 80-120. it can be higher on people will diabetes and be OK in some cases to keep in your norm but that's excessive. drink water

Once in a while i find my sugar that hi.
I have insulin and I know how to use it.So this hi of a sugar comes right down with me.

You do not have medication of any kind. You also don't know much about diabetes.
Get to the ER and then find a great endocrinologist to work with.
You are in danger.
