No, but it is the only way to test for HIV. Other STDs can be tested by getting a PAP smear test for females. Males can get tested in other ways also.

no, there are skin STDs, such as HPV, that do not show up in blood. HPV in particular is found by examining the genitals and doing a pap test. unless warts are present, guys show no signs of HPV, however it can cause cellular abnormalities in women that lead to cervical cancer. watch out for it! get your paps!

no, women get a sample taken on a swab, men get a swab driven down their japs eye and their tube is swabbed
