hormone deficiency to increase hunger

2007-03-28 06:43:39 · 5 answers · asked by Addie 1 in Health Diseases & Conditions Diabetes

I wasn't asking this as a question as my own health, I couldn't find the answer that I was looking for online, so that's why I came here. As for the Diabetes thing... It was a mistake and didn't mean for it to be under Diabetes. Thanks though, TweetyBird.

And as for Tommy and Eviot44, I'm sorry you can't be serious over matters as these things.

Ghrelin and the appetite regulators are PYY and GLP-1. If you've been diagnosed and know for a fact that you have hormone defiency then you'd already be under a doctor's care and you wouldn't be on Yahoo! Answers asking this. This question doesn't belong in the Diabetes category.

Leptin is a hormone thought to be involved in appetite regulation. Low levels may increase hunger. GLP-1 and PYY are peptides.

I believe in order increase appetite you can take B-12 is this what you are looking for to increase your appetite?

Or are you looking to decrease, try eating things lower in carbs and higher in protein. Foods rich in protein tend to hold you over longer then carb based foods. Don't get me wrong your body needs some carbs that are found naturally in fruits and vegetables.
