You only eat a roast because you've been conditioned to think that it's ok. You don't *need* a roast, or any meat for that matter. And yes, many vegetarians would rather eat spinach than a roast. Their consciences will be clear and they will be less likely to be obese, have diabetes, have heart disease, or have colon cancer.
A vegetarian that eats a well balanced diet does not need to take supplements. Everything is in the food. And yes, this includes Iron, B-12, and Protein. But, some vegetarians may take supplements, as do millions of meat eaters.
Now to respond the the liars' answers:
" that's why veggies need to take supplements to get the protein they are missing out on from not eating meat "
This is false. As I stated, a well balanced diet fills ALL nutritional needs. Aside from the fact that most vitamins DO NOT contain protein. Those that do contain minimal amounts. You'd get more protein with a small chunk of cheese or milk in a bowl of cereal.
"every vegetarian guy i kno is tiny and weak and has weak bones and problems cuz they dont get all the essential amino acids( protiens) u get from meats"
Then this person doesn't know healthy vegetarians, is mistaken, or is hyperbolizing to fill an agenda. "Weak bones" is not a symptom of vegetarianism. In fact, you are more likely to get "weak bones" by not going out in the sun enough or by not getting enough Vitamin D. Essential Amino Acids and proteins are readily available in vegetable sources. If the dietary requirements of vegetarians were not being met, then people like Stella McCartney and Joaquin Phoenix would be dead as they have been vegetarian since birth.
"they dont know what they are missing..... " Sure they do; Blood on their hands, colon cancer, diabetes, and a whole host of other things.
"The vegetarians I've seen are all emaciated,"
You mean like Alec Baldwin, Toby MacGuire, and Alyssa Milano? lol.
"and they have "moral reasons" for being a vegetarian(like the way food animals are treated.)"
Morals are bad? lmao.
"that doesn't matter to me" Obviously not.
"they are FOOD." Yes and No. "They" (assuming he means animals) are killed for pleasure. Since meat is not a necessity, they are sentenced to die for our 15 minutes of pleasure. Simply because something *can* be something doesn't mean it should be. Humans are 'made of meat' as well - should we eat the dead?
"The trouble with vegetarians is, they care more about animals than humans, including themselves." Really? So vegetarians NEVER donate to humanitarian causes? They never have children? They never go to the doctor? Quite lying to yourself there wolfie. You are only fooling yourself.

Meat consumption is linked to several cancers and heart disease. Those who eat "the normal meat diet" are 50% more likely to develop heart disease.
Anybody may need to take supplements if they dont eat right. Most meat eaters I know dont eat half the grains and veggies they need so the same can be said for them.
As far as being happier to eat spinach then a roast, that would make sense now wouldn't it? Thats the reason why most of us are vegetarians, because we do not eat animals.

One can eat those foods that are good for him at that moment. The living system needs certain food at a given moment and would not feel well if you do not give it what he asked for. Neither if you give something else that you would better avoid . Other times the living system needs a break, doesn't ask for food nor accept any . We are always well and in a good health/shape as long as we respect/understand the needs of our system.
We can also remember that the meat obtained by killing animals will always keep the information of killing (that will often cause changing in the consumers' behaviour or will put a big pressure on their minds and hearts) and it also contains the information of destruction of a living system - and this may be able to influence the minds of those who are not prepared to face this . (They can become nervous, they may modify badly their way of thinking and hardly realise the difference, they may no longer be able to find what is good for them every time and so they will become improvising, experimenting and often choose things that don't make good to them) .All these because the animals (mammals) are very much involved in the human energetic system , they have hormones that can badly interfere with those of humans, they can produce chemical substances that can harm the human body (the mince, for example, contains huge amounts of urates which in the human body will attack the protection of the inner walls of the intestins, will intoxicate the liver, will intoxicate the blood, the person will have a bad smell, a.s.o.). Pigs have hormones very much alike those of humans but unfortunately this doesn't mean pork is more compatible to us but on contrary it can harm the human body more effectively (many consumers of pork become otherwise, they change ,they will look different, they will grow fatter in a way different than before, they will smell different and even think different). Others may not be "touched" by anything wrong and face well every meal. Each will choose what is the best for him/her.

You are not missing out on anything from not eating meat( except maybe all the major cancers and heart disease) A balanced vegan Diet is very healthy. The only kind of supplement that you would need to take is Vitamin B12 because its found mostly in meat.

I've lived with a few vegs. in my life. i have a healthy respect for the concept. it is possible with the right combo. of veggies you can obtain all the vitamins and aminos you need. in fact certain yams yield all the amino acids. the problem it is a pain in the **** to prep all these vegies and most people don't have the time. the two vegetarians i lived with ate nothing but carbs beans and cheese. its not healthy when you main staple is a fried potato. so eating some meat but mostly vegetables is better than no meat at all.

I am a content veggie. I am more than happy to eat a wide variety of creative vegetable based recipes than a roast. Meat has bacteria and parasites, and many other nasty things, such as blood, pus, urine, disease the animal may have had, residue from pesticides, hormones, steroids, antibiotics, etc. I do not need it. Meat has to be cooked to a certain temperature to kill off the bad things. My veggies can be eaten raw, because they don't harbor bad stuff. Meat just does not make sense. I also don't believe that an animal has to suffer and die in order for me to stuff my face. Veggies are great, as are whole grains, beans, legumes, pulses, herbs, spices, etc. You ARE what you eat-I don't fancy myself as a dead animal. I juice a variety of fresh veggies twice a day, and do not take supplements

Most vegetarians are eating that way due to a belief or guideline they set up. They don't believe in killing or polluting the planet. Or they don't like how the animals are treated before they go to market, etc. All of them have their reasons but I'm afraid I don't share them. I always feel hungry no matter how much I eat so I'm sticking to my meat and veggies. Hope this helps!!!

I am much happier to eat spinach than a roast. I love knowing that nothing had to suffer or die for me to eat. I love knowing that I'm not filling my veins full of cholesterol and saturated fats. If you learn to cook spinach and other vegetables, they taste incredible too.
Some veg*ns do take supplements. I take a general multivitamin everyday. Lots of people who eat meat and dairy take them too. It's not for the protein, though. Contrary to myth, it's very easy to get enough protein without meat, even without dairy or eggs.
All the vegans I know are healthy and look great. if you looked at me, you wouldn't know I'm vegan. I workout several times a week. I lift weights. My students tell me I look like Superman. It's simply not the case that veg*ns are implicitly weak and unhealthy!
