hummous....most likely.. its like a dip right....is it bitter or just pastey? if it were biiter than it may be a eggplant dip....but if its the paste than it is the hummous...hummos is made primarily of garbanzo beans, lemon juice, tahini (sesame paste) garilc and olive oil...i think thats all. this is one of the best appetizers thats just SO delicious and healthy! hope i helped

Sounds like hummus. Puree garbanzo beans (chickpeas) with a little bit of garlic, lemon juice and tahini (a sesame seed paste available at some grocery stores...check the middle eastern or ethnic food aisle).

First of all, what we call "Hummus" is, in most of the Arab countries, known as "hummus bi tahini". That is most likely what you had. It is a mixture of pureed chick peas with sesame seed oil, possibly including lemon, garlic, salt and cracked pepper.
