most health food shops try ti di vegetarian alternatives for everything, but all ive found so far for pick& mix sweets at Holland & Barretts is a small-ish box of jelly bears ("VegeBears" i think), which are actually quite yummy! (of course its for my 4 year old sister- NOT me!!)
but other than that, your local supermarket should do jelly beans without gelatine, as most of them are nowadays; JellyBelly beans are admittedly the best (cos of the VARIETY& "recipes" you can make)
i know also that Asda do vegetarian jelly beans, as well as these yoghurt-based jelly sweets which are surprisingly yummy too! (i think theyre called Daisy cows or something!)
in terms of marshmallow... not got lucky yet but im sure their is an alternative somewhere ^_^

their ARE a few jelly sweets that are suitable for vegetarians- usually these strawberry jellies (http://www.handycandy.co.uk/giant-strawberries-p-46.html - at decent prices too!)

i'll leave you with some websites, but if your REALLY fiending for some pick and mix next time your in a shop/stall, try asking the seller, they might know!

Green and Black's chocolate some of their dark choc is even vegan - Maya gold bars are to die for !!. If you are a Brit. there are some gelatine free alternatives at www.aquarterof.com they deliver a quarter of a kg of sweets to you !! Toffees and fudges and boiled sweets should be veggie but always check the wrappers though. I think bassetts put gelatine in their liqorice allsorts though. (I think it is the beaded ones in particular and the 'liqourice loo-rolls')

Check out health food shops. They usually have gelatine-free jelly sweets.

I am hooked on the gelatine-free fruit flavoured jelly bears! Sad for a 25 yr old guy I know but..

Go to PETA's website. There are a lot of "traditional" sweets that are vegan such as Vienna Fingers. Here is the link.

My daughters friend found that the jelly beans in the Co-op are suitable for vegetarians. I think there are others in there also. Found this link on Search http://www.sweetstall.com/acatalog/Vegetarian_Sweets_and_Chocolates.html. Good Luck!
