They recently came up with a study that chinese food is bad for you, will this make you stop eating it? I eat chinese at least once a week and in fact I'm heading to the local chinese buffet tonight.

I believe he was referring to this:

http://www.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/diet.fitness/03/21/chinese.food.ap/index.html

It's a headline, showing that Chinese food is in fact unhealthy for you. But it's no more unhealthy than eating a slice of pizza. So basically, yes, you can still eat chinese food, however, you should only eat it in moderation, and once a week seems perfectly okay with me. 2-3 times a week, may be pushing it. But it all depends on the individual. I personally love chinese food, and will continue to eat it for sure. I can't stay away from Fried rice for too long.

Authentic Chinese food is very healthy
Our Americanized version isn't.
Usually the Asian custom is to eat in very small portions.
But hungry Americans want bigger portions, that have all this stuff in it.
So that's what they dish out.
It's a business
Something, of course, is bound to be bad for us.
It's like telling a person that cigarrettes cause cancer, they will kill you if you don't stop
Millions are still smoking regardless
So, I don't think people are going to stop eating Chinese food anytime soon.
Personally me, I make my own, or I go to an authentic Asian cuisine restraurant.
Best thing to do is stay away from fast food altogether.
But I doubt it'll happen, lmao.

If you are eating at your local chinese buffet, then yes, the kind of garbage they make to serve people can easily turn a healthy person into a heart patient. The southern styles tend to be more greasy but the central and northern styles are much less so.

I think that real chinese food is not bad...the chinese takeaways ARE (and maybe restaraunts too) as they are cooking laods at once, and everythong is fried or saoked in fat!
If you go to china and eat food there, it is nothing like our takeaway junk...that is rather tasty,
Or course iw ont stop eating there-i only eat there about 5 times a year but it tastes nice...
mcdonalds is worse and look at the amount of people who eat there...they have to killl over half a mill (or was it a million) chickens everyday in order to fill our satifactions.

I stopped about 2 years ago. I did indulge about a month ago, because a friend wanted to eat out for lunch and had to have Chinese. I love stir fry veggies. But the sodium makes my blood pressure jump sky high. I'm usually 100/60 something...a day after eating Chinese, I was over 140/something...Scared me...

I only eat it about once a month, but I wouldn't stop eating it. Besides according to science there are a lot worse things than Chinese food. Why don't they talk about that stuff, the steroids you eat in your meat. The pesticides that are in you veggies.

I know we'll distract them with Chinese food.

Well, I want to know how it's bad for you. Does chinese food clog your arteries, cause heart attacks, affect your liver, make you fat, cause corony heart disease? What exactly makes it bad? I would want to know what makes chinese food bad for you before I decide to give it up for good. I get chinese food 2 to 3 times a week and eat it almost everyday since they give you such big portions that it leaves you with a lot of leftovers! I think that even if it's seriously bad for you I wouldn't be able to give it up, it just tastes too damn good!

Did people stop eating McDonald's when they said it was bad for us???? It is all about knowing, and if you choose to do it anyway then try to eat healthy the majority of the time. You have to treat yourself and once a week sounds ok if you try to eat healthy most of the time.
