in the US it shouldn't be below 60-70-depending on the test. If you're feeling bad, take some sugar and call 911 if you need to. If it's not too low, and you're feeling OK, eat a healthy meal with protein and carbs, and don't take any medicine till you check with your doc's office.

70-120
If it is lower than 70 eat a snack that contains protien such as a half a meat or cheese sandwich and a glass of orange juice.
Wait 1 hour after eating to check your blood sugar. If it has not changed wait another 30 minutes and check it again.
If it has not changed eat a little more protien and repeat the procedure until it goes up again.
If your blood sugar is to high you can repeat the above to get the opposite result.
Eating protien will keep your blood sugar stable for longer and is better for you than hard candy however the result is not as fast.

Be careful that you don't go into a hypoglycemic state. This can be very dangerous and even deadly. That's why most of us diabetics keep a piece of candy or something with us at all times.
"Normal" ranges are 80 to 120 with some individual interpretation. I feel better in the 150 range, but your mileage may vary.

The normal blood sugar range is between 80 and 120. To raise it, eat something with sugar.

Anything between 70-125/ml is what is considered normal for random blood sugars. If you are feeling ill, light headed eat something containing carbs/protiens to booste your sugar level. Often newly diagnosed diabetics tend to run for the sugary candy which will only put you in a poorer state then were you originally started (you will crash and burn). If you are starting to go hypo it is suggested as your quick fix to go for juice, or carry some glucose tablets. However, you may want to check with you doctor and he may or maynot alter your medication dose to accomodate your blood sugar levels.

there are many numbers here but my best guess is that you should ask your doctor. there are standard numbers but these may be different depending on the person. for me it can't be lower than 80 if it does i need to go the emergency room. but the max is generally 120 tops.

Ideally you should be near 90 milligrams per dL. However diabetes mellitus type two, would probably mean that keeping below 110 mgs/ dL will be difficult. Your HgA1c should stay below 6%.
