No, it's not possible. Each blood type contains two alleles which make up a genotype. One allele is from the mother, the other is from the father. For example if a person has type AB blood, A is one allele and B is another allele.

Type A and B blood types are dominant over type O.

So if you have type B blood then you either have type BB blood (one B from your mother and the other from your father) or type BO blood (one B from either your mother or father, and one O from either your mother or father).

Your partners blood is type O. The ONLY thing they can have is type OO (or just O). They have one O from their mother and one O from their father).

The only possible blood types your child can have is type BO (one B from you and one O from your partner), or OO (one O from you and one O from your partner). Since neither of you have A in your blood you can NOT have a AB blood type child.

No it is not...*** blood groups follow Mendelian inheritance patterns. If a child has an AB blood group then neither of the parents can be group O. If your group is B and your child's group is AB, then the father's blood group has to be either A or AB.

As far as I know, not. Because your partner must a ii or 00 combination of genes, because A and B are dominant over 0. As your child is AB, he had to inherite A or B from your partner, but there is no A and no B gene in your partner's genetic constitution.

Hey raakh007,

Good question,
I have been where you are and that is not possible. if you are O and she is AB then the child blood type would have to be either A or B but not AB. Just like you I had to get a DNA to avoid any possible child support but here is a good web site to check the info.

Good Luck and DNA is 99.9999%

I don't believe that it is possible. Talk to your doctor about this and see what is going on. When you go to the doctor, remember that the lab can make mistakes about blood type.
