I had the same thing. I went to the doc and found out that I had Acute Bronchitis. It was first time I've ever been sick, and it took me 3 months to get rid of it. Don't wait around like I did, go to the doc!

I have just recovered from a prlonged coughing spell too!! After 7 weeks of coughing (and 3 Dr's I might add) and a blood test I was diagnosed with Mycoplasma (mild pneumonia). It could also be pertussis or even asthma. I kept going back to Dr because I knew I was feeling "right" and trust me I feel SO much better once I had the second (and stronger) lot of antibiotics. THey may even give you prendisone (steroid)to help as well.

Exclude contagious diseases like tuberculosis and whooping cough ( pertussis).
Go to a doctor for a check up, just in case you spread what you have.
Use a handkerchief and wash hands well.
