No they don't eat jello (I am vegetarian) if it is gelatine-based. You can however get certain types based on agar-agar but I have never tried it because I don't really like sweet stuff. Agar-agar is 'a gelatinlike product of certain seaweeds, used for solidifying certain culture media, as a thickening agent for ice cream and other foods, as a substitute for gelatin, in adhesives, as an emulsifier, etc. '

Well I suppose it is a personnel preference...depend on how hard core you are! Iam a vegan...and no I don't. I actually called the Jello company a couple years ago and they assured me they do use a "meat source" to make Jello. True vegans (again at least the hard core) don't eat anything made with gelatin in it. Such as marsh mellows, some jams and jellies nor, do we take capsules.
You can however make a vegan "jello" with a seaweed substitute called agar agar. You buy it in dry flakes from the health food store. Using hot fruit juice instead of water and about 2 tbsp. of the flakes you would follow the same instructions... not bad.

Vegans definitely would not.
Vegetarians probably wouldn't either, but often aren't aware of what gelatin is when they do.
There are vegan alternatives. We used to think "Emes Kosher Gelatin" wasn't an animal product, but it turned out to be made from Salmon bones, and lots of vegan products (like vegan marshmellows) had used it. A couple of companies ended up going out of business when that was revealed.
Fortunately there are actual vegan jello alternatives now that are available (and vegan marshmellows.)

if they are a true vegetarian, and ESPECIALLY if they are a vegan, they do not.
jello contains gelatin, an animal byproduct that comes from the "leftovers" from cows. by leftovers, i mean the nasty parts that they don't use as meat, like the hair, hooves, skin, all that gross ****. they boil it into a lliquid and use it in jello, as well as in all sorts of candies (like gummy bears) and tons of other stuff

Vegans don't because gelatin is derived from animals. Vegetarians might, depending on how strict their believes regarding eating animal products are, such as eggs, cheese, milk, etc.

It is filled with gelatin, an animal by product. You could contaminate your whole system! Or you could realize that God made all things for us to enjoy. Balance is the key.
