Gargle with warm salt water first. Use purified water and non-iodized salt. This sounds more like the passing cold virus and you only create super bugs by taking antibiotics. I spray my throat then with colloidal silver 15 ppm mixed with oil of oregano and grapefruit seed extract. You could probably knock it out with just GSE (grapefruuit seed extract) and that stuff lasts forever... just 12 drops in a cup of water three times a day. Viruses do not grow resistant to these and thus no superbugs. God bless. Jesus loves you.

you can buy some tylenol cold and flu severe night time from any pharmacy. it works and tastes a lot better than nyquil. NEVER take an antibiotic for a cold especially someone else's prescription. lots of vitamin c and sleep. also some honey lemon chamomile tea works great too. you can also purchase some baby bath that is the vapor bath stuff that smells like vicks and soak in a hot tub and relax for a bit befor bed.

if the symptoms persist for than a few days i would see your doctor.

1 thing i learned from my son's ped was try not to suppress the cough unless it keeps you up at night, by suppressing it all the time you can possibly cause the cold symptoms to worsen. like i said give it a few days and it will work its way out

good luck and hope you feel better

For years I I never was able to relieve a cold...not by going to the doctors or with medication until......I changed my life. For 15 years now ..no colds unless I regress and go back to my old ways (mostly at parties, etc). I do not eat wheat, milk products, sugar. I eat mostly vegetables with lots of green. I take at least 500mg of Vitamin c. and some zinc. If i start to get any cold symptoms I get Chinese medicine either in Chinatown or (more expensive) health food store. The one I use is Yin Chiao. I start with 8 then 4 every 4 hours until relief. I use it at the first sign of any symptom

First of all, never take any else's meds. I recently had a bad cold w/similar symptoms, and Tylenol Cold Severe Daytime (non drowsy) worked pretty well. But do not disregard all of the "old fashioned " remedies. For example, Steam your face with towel over your head above a sink with hot running water to create a vapor. This will loosen up a lot of "junk"...Also hydrotherapy (WATER) in the form of showers, baths, etc....will do you a world of good. You may even want to treat yourself to warming your nite clothes and or robe in dryer first......AHHHHH...The old fashioned Vicks either the inhaler or the chest rub works miracles. Lots of clear fluids, chicken soup (proven) to help shorten the duration of cold SYMPTOMS for sure. REST> rest when you can, elevate your head. Open windows unless you have severe allergies....according to weather channel allergies are way up, due to unusual increase of temps nationwide. Water and Popsicles and slurpees help ease the throat. l have used Cepacol lozenges with great relief. Remember to sneeze into your elbow (at a bend) and wash those hands frequently!!!! Good luck....Achoo!!!!! God Bless You.

Drink plenty of fluids, wear a comfortable clothings, try to gargle a warm water with salt or Betadine oral antiseptic. Dry cough, runny nose are sometimes triggered by post nasal drift due to allergic rhinitis. A good sleep, plenty of fluids will boost your immune system.

DO NOT TAKE antibiotics for a cold. THey do not work as a cold is caused by a virus not bacteria. You should never ever take someone else medicine. To help get over your cold faster get zinc lozenges or Zicam nasal spray and start doing that.

I would say take vitamins, eat well and take nyquil and get a lot of sleep. Stay away from the kids when you have a cold. You probably picked it up from the kids. Carry around a box of tissues, and wash your hands frequently with antibacterial liquid soap, wipe things with alcohol, and when you leave your room spray it with lysol disinfectant. Listerene (mint) is good for gargling.

Take zicam - it tastes kind of nasty but it works SO well. I suggest you invest in it. It shortens a cold 3 times faster.
