I've only had sex once; and it was protected!!! But, I've been breaking out into rashes, and I have a sore throat. I don't know if I'm being paranoid, but I probably am. I have sensitive skin, and I get colds and sore throats easily. But because I did a lot of research about HIV and those were apart of the symptoms. My sexual encounter was about 5 months ago. I'm also living in a dorm, and it's old and moldy, so who knows.

Okay I don't think you have HIV/AIDS, but I would contact my doctor ASAP. There are other things that you can get that have those symptons. It depends where the rashes are. You could be allergic to latex. There are people that have that. If you do not have a doctor in your town or you do not want your parents to know about the visit try going to a local clinic for a check up let them know what is going on and have them run the STD test. If all those come back neg go see your doctor, because it is something else. Allergies, Skins issues ect...I don't think the worst! Also can you talk with your partner ask him any questions? Will he be honest with you, if so I would talk to him and see if he has any type of STD. I hope this helps.

You are correct - rashes on the body (chest in particular) can be a symptom of acute HIV infection. However, this is relatively rare, and unlikely. You are most likely having an allergic reaction to something in the dorm like mold or dust mites. Go to the campus health service and get checked out, and get an HIV test just to make yourself feel better. (To be really sure, get one in another month - the incubation period for HIV can be as long as six months). If it is an allergic reaction, get on the school's case about the state of the dorm.

If your dorm has mold you need to get this cleaned up as this can cause some of your problems. You do not have HIV. Mold however is very serious so get this taken care of,.

You are probably fine, but if will make you feel better, go to a pharmacy & get a home HIV test. They are about $60. If you cannot afford this go to the public health or free clinic near you & get tested for free. since you live on a college campus, the school health clinic may also be able to help you. It will at least ease your mind.
& way to go on using protection. That is very responsible! Do it everytime!!

I am sure you don't have AIDS. But mold could be causing your problem. If you have wet wood in your apartment get out of there it can be very hazardous to your health. Some molds are deadly.

No, if you are breaking out into rashes, it is definitely something else. AIDS is a disease that destroys your immune system. HIV is the virus that causes it. If your immune system was destroyed you would be killed by the slightest disease because you would have no defense against it. Rashes have nothing to do with HIV/AIDS. It has to do with herpes. -_-

Go to your campus health center and tell them about your symptoms. It is extremely unlikely that you have AIDS. Living with mold is not healthy.
