Homemade Mac & Cheese is the best!

Try this recipe; it's AWESOME:

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 pound elbow macaroni
1/2 cup butter PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
1 tablespoon
1/2 cup shredded Muenster cheese
1/2 cup shredded mild Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
2 cups half & half
1 cup Velveeta, cut into small cubes
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350:. Lightly butter a deep 2 1/2 quart casserole. Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat, add the oil then the elbow macaroni and cook until macaroni is just tender (about 7 minutes). Do not overcook. Drain well and return to the pot.

In a small saucepan, melt the first measure of butter. Stir into the macaroni. In a large bowl, mix the Muenster, mild and sharp Cheddar cheese and the Monterey Jack cheese. To the macaroni, add the half & half, 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheeses, the cubed Velveeta and the eggs. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to the buttered casserole. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese and dot with the remaining butter.

Bake until it is bubbling around the edges, about 35 minutes. Serve hot. Since you have no way to reheat, make it at the last minute & get one of those insulated carriers.

How about a cold macaroni salad that you keep on ice. Crab salad, Tuna salad, or Chicken salad.

Bring your own ice to keep the salad cold and some wheat crackers.

Good Luck.

Cold Mac N Cheese or Fettuccini Alfredo is not too tasty.

definitely the mac and cheese because fettuccini alfredo doesnt taste the best when it isnt hot. even mac and cheese still tastes good when it is warm. you can just cover it with aluminum foil that keeps the food pretty warm for a long time.

Personally, i would recommend the macaroni and cheese!!
for two reasons, one its easier to serve!!
and two it tastes better than fettuccini alfredo, but then again thats just my oppinon~

Definitely Mac and Cheese. Alfredo is best served fresh and will not taste as good by the time it is served.

Take the fettuccini an hope they eat it all quickly.Neither one tastes that good cold.I would have taken a potato salad and set it into a larger bowl of ice.I do all the time.Have fun.

My choice would be the fettuccine. It is a classier dish and if you cook it and transfer it to a crock pot or another kind of insulated food carrier it should stay warm enough to eat. If you don't want to do that, go with the mac and cheese.
