Your heart beats about 100,000 times in one day and about 35 million times in a year. During an average lifetime, the human heart will beat more than 2.5 billion times.

The heart pumps about 1 million barrels of blood during an average lifetime--that's enough to fill more than 3 super tankers.

The normal heart beat is about 60 to 100 beats per minute.
If it beats less than 60, this is called bradycardia. If it beats over 100, it is called tachycardia.
The right side of the heart pumps deoxygenated blood into the lungs for oxygenation. The left side of the heart has anatomically much thicker walls because the left ventricle pumps blood out to the entire body which takes much more force.
The heartbeat starts in the sinus node in the top of the heart or the SA node thru the AV (atrioventricular node) thru the bundle of HIS and the purkingie fibers through the left and right ventricles.
PS: I am a RN and also a heart patient.
