I have contracted the disease and lately I have been really sick feeling like i'm pregnant. i'm dizzy, hot, and feel nautious. Could these be signs that the disease is seriously hurting my body? or could it just be a sign of pregnancy. beacuse i haven't had my period for going on 2 months but i'm always irregular and the pregnancy tests have all said negative. I am really worried and need help on this topic b/c I have no insurance and can't afford a doctor. Please give me advice.

Genital herpes can cause flulike symptoms which are very common during the first outbreak. It can also cause a fever, headaches, and muscle aches. My first genital herpes outbreak was horrible! My body was so sore all over and I felt like crap for days. I couldn't go to work or school or do anything! So it could just be some side effects from the virus. Take some Ibuprofen for the pain and tylenol if you have a fever. You'll also want to take your anti-viral medication if you haven't started taking it.

The other thing that concerns me is you haven't had your period for 2 months. That's not good. I would suggest you see a doctor if you can but if you have no insurance and don't have the money I guess that's not an option right now. You could always go to a Planned Parenthood too. The next best thing would be to buy a home pregnancy test. They aren't very expensive.

Take care and good luck!

never heard of those symptoms being associate with herps, however each person is different.

Have you did a pregnancy test recently? Whats your stress like?

Yes herpes can affect pregnancy though its rare. Stress is a major contributing factor for herpe symptoms so try to limity your stress.

If you havent did a test recently say the last 15days then try one again.

Herpes are not a serious threat to pregnancy unless you have an outbreak during the birth. If you do have an out break before you give birth it could cause your child to be blind, but there are many precautions doctors can take to help your child.

Planned Parenthood and many other resources are available for people who can't afford the doctor or insurance, so you really have no excuse not to go to a doctor.

Also, you shouldn't be having sex unprotected if you have herpes, and for that matter, if you say you can't afford a doctor, why are you having sex?

You can't afford a child!

Think smart, because if you have a child you can't take care of financially, then you shouldn't be having sex.
