onion blossom 427 grams = 0.94137386 pounds
(excludes water weight.)
cheeseburger 62.7 grams = .1382 pounds
(excludes water weight.)
To get the number of grams, I added the amounts for total fat, total carbohydrates, sodium, protein, and cholesterol.
So the onion is 6 times larger than the cheeseburger. It's also deep fried.
If you look at the volume of the cheeseburger (with bun) about 1/3 is the cheese and burger, and about 2/3 is the bun/pickles/ketchup/mustard.)
So you have a high fat burger with cheese, or a deep fried onion about 18 times larger.
It should be no surprise that the onion (with dipping sauce) is about 20 times more calories.
BTW, I don't believe the onion blossom is vegan, I think the breading and dipping sauce contain buttermilk and sour cream.

no vegan would touch one of those with a 10 foot pole. A vegetarian might. There is buttermilk, sour cream, and milk and eggs in the breadcrumbs. I wouldn't eat one, its full of fat and clearly not healthy. I also wouldn't touch a McDonalds burger, because heaven knows what artificial crap is it. You clearly misunderstand the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian.

Because it is still fast food? Click on the 'manufactured by' link. It's a fast food place that is trying to appeal to vegans.
It doesn't mean anything about vegans, I doubt any vegan would set foot in that fast food place and buy that.

Because it's fried. Canola oil is a fat and has tons of calories.

It is probably due to the content of the grease used to fry it in.
