DJ is good, are you haveing it in your home or at a hall, Hotel etc... If useing a Hotel you might ask if they can reccomend a DJ sometimes they get a rate. Another fun theme is casino night. You can rent tables and even dealers for the night, check your local party supply. As for food, think of what kind of Party food your boyfriend likes Pizza, Wings, Nachos, etc.. Maybe if you post where you plan on haveing your party and your budget, you will get better ideas.

Don't have it at your house. He would recognize all the cars right away ! Rent a public place like the community center or someplace else that would let you drink. Maybe a private room in a restaurant. Invite people in person or on the phone , never right anything down, he may find it ! As you buy stuff { food , drinks, decorations, presents , etc. } take it to someone else's house. Make sure you make arrangements with a friend or neighbor that you trust not to tell him to do this. If you want to invite anyone who you think can't keep a secret , then invite them at the last minute or just have someone else bring them without knowing where they are going. Make sure you stress to EVERYONE that it is a SURPRIZE so they don't ask you questions in front of him ! Good Luck !

You need to make a few decisions first. Is it a family oriented party? Is it a "man" party? How much money do you want to spend?

The good thing about most men is that they don't care about decor. This tends to be a large expense.

It's hard to make your mind think like a man, but you have to. Listen to what he liked when he was a child, teenager, young adult. Take that idea and run with it.

DJ's can be very expensive, but they tend to be worth it. Make sure that you find one that has whatever type of music you like and knows how to work the tables well. Little people strippers are always funny. Tables with his favorite game. Make sure his cake is representative of who he is. Perhaps a cake in the shape of his favorite football team logo, a big trout if he likes to fish, a mountain with a mini skiier. You get the point.

Pick a few key things that are specifically important to your boyfriend and have them represented in a specific way to your boyfriend. The rest of it is insignificant. He will remember all the little special touches that he loves.

I'm having a surprise party for my boyfriend on Fri. I've
enlisted the help of a few of his best buddies for the food and icing down the beer, getting people to the place. To keep him occupied for a few hours while I work, I am sending him on a scavenger hunt. He will be told to open an envelope at noon...He will have instructions to go to the cigar shop and tell the clerk his name. She will present him with a cigar that I have already purchased and another envelope. That will instruct him to go to the liquor store. There, he will pick up a bottle of wine that I've already bought and the next set of instructions. Continuing in this way, he will go to his favorite german restaurant, an adult boookstore, the candle store, a tavern. Then he will meet me at his hunting lodge where we will enjoy the wine, cigar, etc. By then it will be time to show up at a friend's cabin where everyone will be waiting. To get him there, I am telling him I want to go to friend's cabin and have a hot tub before we get cleaned up to go out. Good Luck!! Have fun! I called ahead to all these places to see if they would participate and the reaction was great. People love to help with these sorts of things!!

I agree with the last guy's comment. But try and get a girlfriend to join you. I guarantee it'll be his best birthday ever!

Just keep it between you and him. Get naked and wrap youreself in a big red bow and greet him at the door when he gets off of work. He will enjoy that better than a party, I promise.
