Cake isn't the main entree is it? There are tons of other desserts out there, cookies, cinnabons, apple pie, ice cream, fresh fruit like strawberrries or melon. Is this your party or your friends party. You can't base the whole party on what one person doesn't like. Have a variety.

I have the same problem. This is always a HUGE hit at my parties:

Fruit Dip
8 oz Fat Free Cream Cheese
8 oz marshmallow creme

Bring the cream cheese to room temperature. Stir in marshmallow cream.

You can also add a package of vanilla pudding mix and/or vanilla flavoring to this as well.

Serve with assorted fruits cut into bite sized pieces.

Ask your friend what does work.

If you're still stuck for ideas, try moulding ice cream in cake pans, frost and decorate it.

Do a raspberry or strawberry cheesecake

Peach cobbler with raspberry sauce

Chocolate mousse pie

Lemon bars cut in little squares and stacked like a tiered cake.

Just let your imagination go...!

Your friend does not have to have cake then. I'm assuming you are serving a variety of other foods as well?

Make chocolate fondue. Fondue pots are pretty cheap now adays. You can have cake, fruit, cookies, and candy to dip in. Then eveyone can find something they like.
