You need to get some over the counter medication such as miconazole (brand name: Monistat). You could also make an appointment with your doctor and get some anti fungal medication like fluconazole (brand name: Diflucan). Yogurt also helps with yeast infections and sometimes gets rid of them because it has live culture in it. I wouldn't rely on this though.

Cranberry juice will have no affect on a yeast infection. Cranberry juice is recommended sometimes (along with medication) when a person gets a UTI (urinary tract infection).

Also, a yeast infection is NOT a STD. It's true that it can be passed back and forth from a man to a woman and vice versa. But, usually yeast infections occur because of the imbalance of "good" bacteria and "bad" bacteria in the vagina. A lot of times yeast infections are caused by a person taking antibiotics because the antibiotics are basically killing the "bad" bacteria, causing an imbalance in a woman's vagina. I have had several yeast infections over the years from taking antibiotics. This is VERY common.

Get some Monistat or see your doctor. Good luck to you!

I've had yeast infections problem over 4 years. I tried everything, of course I went to the DR. about a hundred times, probably not that many, but it
sure seems like it. It never did any good for long and caused all kinds of other issues having to do with taking too many antibiotics. It wasn't until
I stumbled upon the information on this site
( http://get-rid-of-yeastinfection.blogspot.com ), that my life changed completely. I'm feeling so much better now, my quality of life returned and
every one of the symptoms had gone.

Although yeast infection (known by the names of Candida, Monilia or Thrush) is in fact a very common condition, (as three out of four women develop it at some point
in their lifetimes), it is little discussed. Most people regard candida infection as a ‘on the surface’ problem that should be treated with creams and antibiotics whereas
few are aware of its potentially risky complications. So going to doctors it's a bad idea not because it makes you feel uncomfortable, it's because they will prescribe antibiotics
until something works, it could take even 1 year to treat a yeast infection like this.

To effectively overcome candida infection, you need to be aware of the real cause of yeast infection and be able to identify its symptoms. You need to know how to self-test
and diagnose your candida condition, learn about the dietary principals needed to maintain a candida free environment and about the complimentary treatments that will help you
battle against the negative effects and complications of your yeast infection.

Read "Yeast Infection No More" BY Linda Allen ( electronic format @ http://get-rid-of-yeastinfection.blogspot.com ) It's about how to naturally and permanently
eliminate your yeast infection without drugs, creams or any kind of gimmicks.

Not a great idea to seek medical advice from yahoo posters. If you still seek to self medicate, the first choice of OTC anti-fungals would be Miconazole. If you choose to go the alternative healing route, a probiotic like acidophilus should be considered. The penis isnt the most hospitable place to host yeast hence why you rarely, if ever, hear of it being associated with sexual transmission. Yeast infections ****can****, in fact, be sexually transmitted though.

"It's true that it can be passed back and forth from a man to a woman and vice versa" -- Alli

Thats how "sexually transmitted" is defined. Its irrelevant of what conditions foster the infection.

YES, Yeast infections are considered a Sexually Transmitted disease. They can be passed from partner to partner through sexual contact. MEN to women, and women to men. Generally men are called carriers, as they usually have no symptoms. If men have multiple sex partners, they can give a vaginal yeast infection to every woman they are with.

If it is your first yeast infection you really should see a qualified OB-GYN doctor.

There are good over the counter products, but you should have a test to make sure it is yeast and not another STD.

you need to get medicine from a gynocologist. you could buy an over the counter medicine like monistat but you have to go to the doc to make sure it is a yeast infection first off. and using over the counter meds don't always kill the infection and it will come back. believe me, i know. go to the gynocologist!!! if u can't afford it, go to planned parenthood.

first off sister yeast infection is not a sexual transmitted disease, its a mess up of normal flora bacteria in your vagina, usually an anit-fungal like miconazole cream will clean it up, also everyone else failed to mention, sometimes when u have alot of sex you can get them more often, bc the urinary opening is so small and bad bacteria can easily get in and mess things up, also dont douche, it also interfers with your normal flora, use a mild soap and stay away from bubble baths, bc if you are prone to yeast infections you could also be prone to urinary tract infections, hope i could help

If it is the first time you have had one...you should talk with your doctor. You can only get rid of it by using a kit you can buy off the shelf in the drugstore. Refrain from using a douche, as it will push germs up into your cervix...yuck!
