No. You will have your passport etcetera, and so long as your diriving licence is valid it is not a problem.

The old style paper licences are valid in Europe but some parts especially Belguim may need an IDP (International driving permit - contact AA, RAC or Green Flag + cost £5).

If you do have a photocard licence you will not need an IDP.

It makes life a lot easier to have the photocard licence, there are so many fake paper ones around, that the police may take a dim view of yours. You will not be able to hire any vehicles either....paper ones are definately not accepted for that

Not necessarily but it would help as its recognised by the EU, and it wont cost you anything to get one apart from paying the excessive charge for the photos in the booth

your license states european states license therefor you will be ok although some countries use the license like a identification card technically you dont need a new one but it may assist you
