It is possible to pass on many common deseases this way but the risk is quite low if the drink is hot or contains alcohol as both these kill a lot of common germs. Its transmission by from spit that could cause some infection however the risk is about the same as from kissing.

Herpes simplex virus, otherwise known as cold sores *I believe*, I have heard that it has to be direct skin contact but I think that's incorrect. Cold and flu type viruses, glandular fever, TB and some parasites. Enjoy.

not many - thats a very very rare form of disease-transmission. maybe the flu if the person has it, and other respiratory diseases (pneumonia, TB etc.)
