I was really skeptical about this, still am, and it is a really odd observation, however as my Mum sees kids with ADHD on a daily basis, I felt it was worth giving it some thought, and seeing if others noticed this as well?

Also while I am asking, what sorts of things do you notice in people with ADHD that could explain why they can appear or give the sense of being awkward?

This is really interesting, I'm glad I asked the question.Just from reading some of the responses I'd say it is probably like ADHD in general, where each person presents differently. I wonder if it may be certain types of ADHD are more prone to walking differently (not necessarily strangely, just differently, and my Mum says it is really a subtle thing than an obvious difference). I wonder what may be the reason for some walking differently and others who also have ADHD not showing this difference.

Also not all people with ADHD are 'hyper', some girls for example may be more likely to talk incessantly than act out 'hyper' yet still have the hyperactivity, except it is not the sort of hyperactivity that people expect (as a result of stereotyping).

I never really found ADHD a good title for this condition I feel it leads to assumptions that do not represent the majority of people who have the condition, either that or leads people to interpret the condition incorrectly from the name.

I spoke further to my Mum and I wont say too much as I respect the rights of people with ADHD to remain anonymous...the difference in the persons walk is not in their legs, but a difference in the upper body movement. It is related to Motor movement difficulties.

There is a disorder called Developmental Coordination Disorder, some people with ADHD may also have that, or they may have some features of it.

If the person also has Mental Retardation or a form of Autism, they are very likely to have some symptoms of Developmental Coordination Disorder.

Also, poor coordination can be related to brain damage; people who have ADHD are thought to have mild brain damage that happened at birth, such as not getting enough oxygen at the right time.

No, my kid brother has ADHD, and he's really cool and sweet, and he doesnt walk funny in my opinion, and I'm always looking at flaws. The only things that are awkward in him is that he taps his feet constantly, sitting or standing and he seems always to need to move or mess with something.

Nothing really else, I think i'm a perfect person to answer since i see him every day

I suppose of somebody is hyperactive or on edge all the time it is quite plausible to suggest this may influence their physical movements. People who are tense are supposed to walk with short, quick steps.
