So what it is , is it depression , should I have to take meds , should I go on meds , or is there any other way out.

where i live they dont do counciling , thry give paxil and prozac like a cough syrup thats whu i need ur help guys , changing life style i think is the right answer

Get your haemoglobin checked. Recognise environmental factors which are making your mood down. sleep well eat good healthy food , exercise well, and try to keep you self busy.
If you still think you need some anti depressant then talk to your doctor. Good luck Spartan

Soundsl ike depression to me. Go see your doctor and talk things through. Meds are there to help if you need them but some people prefer to try other options first. The good news with depression is it is treatable, many people, myself included found I got more depressed about being depressed if that makes sense. The feeling of no hope for the futre came from that with me as I felt I'm always going to feel like this.

It'll sound cliche but depression is in your head, its not a medical condition as such its more how you see the world around you. Think of it as mental habits. As such they can be changed.

One way to get back on track right now is create a gratitude list. List all the things you are happy with in your life. Do this daily and it will change how you think giving you a postive outlook. Its a form of cognitive behaviour therapy and is an area you should research if you feel depressed or anxious - the two are very closely related.

Medication will not cure your depression, they are simply intended as a means of levelling or stabilising for when you really fel you cant move forward. I suffered from panic attacks which created anxiety, then depression. I was put on Fluoxetine about 4 weeks ago, they calmed me down but you must be aware there can be side effects which will go away after time, if not you can try different routes.

The main thing to know is that you will get better I can promise you that. Don't see your recovery as a consistent slope, you will have your off days everyone does. Hope that helps you.

Everyone experiences one or all of these symptoms in their life,life gives us battles some harder than others and they either build strength and wisdom or destroy us completely.

It's completely up to you how you deal with the problem of living and being in this world.They cannot accurately determine if depression in a person is related to life experience or biological malfunction and there is still no valid biological test for depression.

However if you feel that drugs are the best remedy - then go for that but please be aware of the information available on these drugs - ive listed some sites below.

They have shown that magneisum,exercise,laughter etc all lift serotonin just as anti depressants do [abeit in an artifical way with greater side effects].There are many alternatives to medication.


If the underlying cause of why you feel this way is not adressed and only the symptom [Serotonin deficiency] is dealt with - depression will return again and again.

Anti depressants can take away the pain but often the injury is still there and will still be there when/if you ever come off meds which many people have trouble doing.

You need to print out exactly what you have here and take it to your doctor. If a doctor or psychiatrist feels you need meds then do it. It is not a sign of weakness and in a few weeks you will feel much better. If anything is affecting you physically, emotionally, socially, sprittually etc then you need to change it. Stay away from mind altering solutions like drugs, alcohol, tranqs etc these are all depressants and the next day you will feel worse. Balance and structure helps...ex. get up the same time everyday, eat breakfast, get outside and walk or some kind of exercise, i know its easier said than done and it takes time so be patient and in my opinion yes i think you need meds and maybe it will just be for awhile and it could be the rest of your life but i would make an appt TODAY!!

I suggest some alternatives which I used long ago:
- Take tyrosine (a component of amino). It helps to boost your energy level and therefore motivate you.
- Take vitamin B & C to fuel your brain and combat stress.
- Get plenty of sun.
- Get plenty of exercise to sweat it out and pump oxygen into your brain. If you jog, run as fast as you can until you are out of breath before you stop.
- Analyze your diet. Not enough water or too much acid.
- Meditate by focusing your thoughts on your breathing. Meditate will strengthen your mind.
- Pray a lot. Have faith in the religion of your choice. Believing that someone powerful is willing to help you, strengthen your belief you will recover.
- Use auto suggestion first and last thing in the day : "Everyday in every way, I am getting better and better." Repeat the sentence any time your are free like traveling or waiting. Record and play it to yourself. Say it with positive feeling.
- Don't take anti-depression pills because the pills makes you sleepy but it does not help.

Try yoga with relaxing music in the morning and night. Your body is linked to your mind. Once your body feel great, our mind will improve.

If you feel all of these things you should:

* talk to your doctor
* tell the doctor how you feel
* get a full physical
* start an exercise program
* evalutate your diet; you may not be getting enough Vitamin B
* if your doctor prescribes meds, realize that not all meds are created equal. You may need to try different kinds before you find the right one that works for you.
* a combination of meds and counseling is usually a good course of action when one feels as you do.

Medication is not the only answer. While it may help alleviate the symptoms, you also need therapy to help you resolve these issues. This is very deep, clinical depression. I know from where I speak, because I have it, too. But I have a good therapist and I'm only on minimal medication (one Lexapro a day). Though the medication helps ramp down my anxiety so I can work, shop and enjoy life more, it's really having someone to talk to that gives me back the confidence I need. Find yourself a therapist, now! If you can't afford one, many universities have free or low cost programs.

I have been diagnosed with several disorders on your list. I refuse to take meds, as I feel they only mask the problem. They often have side effects that can place you in a worse off situation. Knowing my impairments and tackling them one by one and or, avoiding situations that provoke them, has worked for me. My friends and family know my conditions and they have been very patient in allowing me to work thru them at my leisure. Talking to a specialist, can help you see things more clearly. But you are the key to getting better. and remember that...

The bible says that God will never give you a burden that you cannot bear, so when you have a problem that you think is impossible to fix, take it as a compliment: God thinks you can!

I suggest you see a psychiatrist and he/she will prescribe you the right medicine. I myself am also suffering from depression for 6 years already but didn't realize it. I seeked psychiatrist's treatment recently and was prescribed anti-depression medicine. The effects of the medicine is good. I have been taking it for 3 months and are still in the treatment process. I also got other problems like socail phobia/panic attacts. I am glad if you can contact me for experience-sharing. Anyway, I suggest you go to see a psychiatrist.

Medication is one option but before doing that I would recommend talking to your primary care dr about what is going on and they can help you figure out whether medication is the right option for you as well as rule out physical problems such as due to the thyroid that could be causing the possible depression. Which yes it sounds like it could be depression based on what you have listed.
