Trust and commitment are the biggest things in a long distance relationship. Talk as often as possible, but trust each other, that's the main thing.

Depends on a number of factors. How long have you known each other? How WELL do you know each other? Are you certain that you can be separated (and lonely) and still remain faithful to one another. How OLD are you? I don't mean to belittle your feelings for one another, but it's been my experience that in situations such as high school sweethearts being separated by different collleges.....things don't work out very well. On the other hand, think about all the people who have been in the past, and are now currently separated by war. I have a friend who's second child was almost 2 years old before her father ever laid eyes on her. I have another friend who had only been married 4 months when her husband got sent to prison for 5 years....she waited faithfully for him, and he has been out for 3 years now. Last year they had a beautiful baby girl. A lot of women would not have waited for him. So it just depends on your individual situation. Whatever happens, your phone bill is going to be enormous.

Long distance relationship can sometimes works for your advantage, but you must never loose the communication and trust that the two of you have. Patience is the 3rd thing that the two you must have and if you both have this, no matter the distance is..your love will survive.

Well actually it depends . Some time people live closer and still the dont understand each other. Well i have a good friend from france we been knowing each other since last 2 years. Last time when i met her in France for the fisrt tiem oh my god i cant belive she recoganized me from my first look. So it depends upon from person to person and above all understanding between 2 person is important.
Yeah it is true man or women get atrracted to other person though its for short time . it might be possible your friend might be attarcted toward other person since it human phycology to fall for other person. So develop a trust ocne that is developed life would be very easy. Trust me

as the others have said you need to commincate as much as possible and trust each other so much.
also if you can save up some money to visit them some time. but this could be hard if you are never gunna meet very often becuase it might fall out becuase of the distance and the tiems you get to see or speak to each other.
but dont worry as long as you can phone them send them pressents in the post or buy online and sending letters talking online meeting once ina while it will work out but it will need alot of work and will be hard so god luck with it. i once did it and i know how hard it is if you need any more advice on it contact me by email(im kellys friend here okay) my email is sari_hane@hotmail.com.

Well, I am in long distance relationship since four years. I LOVE my girl friend and she loves me very much. we are now trying every thing be together.
So the secret is you have to communicate very frequently. We almost call each other every day. Though it is a bit costy to call each other but we do it. Therefore you have to keep in touch and discuss every thing you feel to each other.

I myself I am in a Long Distance Relationship. Its been 2.5 yrs now and still going strong. How do we keep in touch ?
We send daily sms, missed call (as a sign of kiss) chat once in a week and call and speak with one another once in a week .
I am at Kuwait and my girl in India and we still love care about each other.
