Try to find the reason and once you recognised that try to get out of that environment. Exercise, eating healthy food and good sound sleep make you feel better if you still feeling blue then go to doctor and get antidepressant prescribed. Nothing wrong being depressed so do not feel bad about it. spartan

It depends on how serious you think your depression is. If its been short term chances are it will go away pretty quickly once whatever stress your facing now goes away. People when severely depressed often cannot get ouf obed in the morning and find that their lives suffer through work and relationships.

I xpect you are between these two descriptions. If you feel minor depression usually simply geting your mind active on new things will change your focus. Stop dwelling on the past and don't worry about things you cannot change.

If you feel that it has become something that is affecting your life then go see your doctor and talk things through - dont be ashamed of it because there are more people than you think who suffer from it - fact of modern living.

Medication can be an option if you feel you need to feel stable. They do not cure depression but they do take the edge off things, thats an important thing to realise. Also unless you address the cause of what is bothering you the depression may come back. Ir is completely treatable its basically how you think of the world around you.

My advice is find a new hobby, hang around new people, learn something new and generally keep active.

Wishing you all the best!

There is a difference between ordinary sadness, which lasts only a few hours or days, and depression, which lasts for weeks. In case it is depression, you should seek help from a psychologist/psychiatrist. Depending on your symptoms, either counseling or medicines or both may be required.

We do what we can. First there are many levels of depression so that word is not good to use here. Here is the list. one take a break or vacation. Two find a new friend like yourself and admit there are secret social groups. Three leave family and friends until you are strong again. Depression is from a chemical made by your brain when it has to rebuild wrong expectations.

Depends on the depth of depression. Some depression is very normal and can be helped by eating chocolate, exercising, or talking to a friend.

Deep dark depressions require treatment. Go to a mental health clinic, a psychaitrist, or you medical doctor. They will be able to advise you properly. Each person responds to medications differently. It took almost two years before my doctor found just right one for me. Be sure to let your doctor know if you are having bad side effects, or if your meds are not working. I did, and am now living a very normal life.

I suggest some alternatives which I used long ago:
- Take tyrosine (a component of amino). It helps to boost your energy level and therefore motivate you.
- Take vitamin B & C to fuel your brain and combat stress.
- Get plenty of sun.
- Get plenty of exercise to sweat it out and pump oxygen into your brain. If you jog, run as fast as you can until you are out of breath before you stop.
- Analyze your diet. Not enough water or too much acid.
- Meditate by focusing your thoughts on your breathing. Meditate will strengthen your mind.
- Pray a lot. Have faith in the religion of your choice. Believing that someone powerful is willing to help you, strengthen your belief you will recover.
- Use auto suggestion first and last thing in the day : "Everyday in every way, I am getting better and better." Repeat the sentence any time your are free like traveling or waiting. Record and play it to yourself. Say it with positive feeling.
- Don't take anti-depression pills because the pills makes you sleepy but it does not help.

Try yoga with relaxing music in the morning and night. Your body is linked to your mind. Once your body feel great, our mind will improve.

Dear Ruchhi,
I am a professional psychologists.
People often ask me this question.
When u r depressed, find a quiet place.
Sit somewhere there and take deep breath.
Then wash your face to fresh up. Its better if you are able to take a bath. Otherwise washing your face is also good.
Believe in yourself, and try to understand whatever happened to you. If something happened wrong try to justify it.
Another best thing you can do is share the incident which depressed you with someone who is very close to you.
Cool Down. You seem to be depressed.

Try this. This is surely going to help u.

All the best!!

exercise will release brain chemicals that help with depression, also get your mind on other things or just the moment that you are currently in and not thinking about those things that are depressing you.

* spend more time in the sun...vitamin d
* seek counseling

* smile - sometimes even when we're sad, a smile helps make us feel better.
