Live as normal as possible a life.
Give some attention to being otherwise as healthy as you can, fresh air, exercise and healthy food. Make an effort to keep in touch with friends and acquaintances.
Remember that you are the same person that you were before the diagnosis. Cancer is something that affects you, not something that defines you.

Personally this is my choice - Try Vitamin C therapy. A few years ago a cancer researcher came out with a paper saying that the best cancer and infection fighter as yet found was Interferon, but, at the time, it cost $15,000 a gram. The good part was that Interferon was a product of the natural breakdown of Vitamin C in your system. Shortly after that paper came out the FDA tried to make Vit C by prescription only. Guess why? The FDA says that the RDA for Vit C is 64 mg a day, just enough to prevent scurvy. Linus Pauling, who got a Nobel Prize for his work with Vit C and a second Nobel Prize for organic chemistry, said 1000 mg a day as a minimum and 2000 mg a day if you are sick. On a personal note, I was sick twice a year, for 2 weeks at a time, for 20 years, and was flat on my back for at least a week each time. To this day the doctors have no idea what the problem was. After I gave up on the doctors I tried Vit C. I took enough to keep from being sick and just below too much to get diarrhea. It followed a bell curve over 2 weeks with a peak at 40,000 mg a day – about 300,000 over the 2 weeks. I was not sick for those 2 weeks and after a couple of years of that I have not been sick since. I did not dissolve my kidneys, as some doctors said would happen. I did not get any calcium build up or stones and did not dissolve my cojones or solidify my joints. Try it, but drink a lot of water – Vit C is a natural diuretic.

I would love too =) My mother was a breast cancer patient and she is healthy and happy as she still survives. My mom's friend just got breast cancer. My mom sent her a care package and i will tell you what was in it so you can use them or ask someone to get them for you.
Hand Sanitizer- after you come out of a check up from the doctor. Or after touching a grocery cart (my mom had her chemo in the winter and she wore gloves, so it looked casual and so she wouldn't get germs ;) .)
Notepad- for writing down notes your doctor tells you.
Candy/lollipops- If your mouth gets dry, which it does a lot in cancer.
Lavendar or any soothing soaps- to relax and calm down.
My mom recently went for a check up and had candy in her mouth....dont do that right before a check up! The friction of you sucking on the candy makes your temp. go up and they might think that you have a fever!!
My mom always made me wipe down the remote for the tv, doorknobs and anything else she would touch that might give her germs.
My mom stayed healthy/ier by eating fruit and veggies. She made up recipes, like
Spinach, egg beaters and salsa and you can make an omlet type thing. She still eats that.
Hope this helps you a lot! I'LL PRAY FOR YOU!!

Yes.
First off you are what you eat. So think about that.
If you "have" to have a chip, or candy bar take a bite.
Not the bag, or total thing. ;)
Exercise when you can. It will keep up strength
Rest, and always try to remain positive.
Count on your family. Tell one friend to "help"
meaning pass on news (so you don't have to over and over)
and take all the help they offer. If they don't offer anything speak up and say "help".
