I went to the mental health center nearby a couple of times for my depression, but all they did was ask me things and write down the answers. I need solutions, and that's not what they gave me. I was just wondering if there are any good, free counselors online that I might talk to. Thanks.

I am a counsellor and i dont think there are any on line therapists. Yes we do write alot of things down but we have to use alot of paperwork lol. Usually (i do) we are just doing an assessment of what we think will benefit you from our information. We do not take it personally if you request a different counsellor. Try some group counselling too. Its a great way to meet other people that are going through similar struggles. Look in your phone book or call the mental health center and have them recomend a family help center or an out patient group at the hospital or rehab. If you feel you need help there are 24 hour distress centers you can call anytime..there are tons of options out there...

Unfortunately there is no quick fix for depression, the reason the counselor did not give you any solutions is because they need to determine the best course of action and the only way they can come up with a game plan is by getting to know you and understand the cause of your depression.

If you need someone to talk to I'd be more then happy to lend my support, I've done a lot of study in the field of psychology.

You are going to be disappointed if you rely only on councilors to help your depression . It is a life long struggle after you learn what makes depression. This forum and yahoo depression chat rooms are very helpful too.
