thats lowsy, but your not even showing remorse, asking your nan for a tenner on her birthday when youve forgot her special day. It is awful to consider giving her pens from the stationary cupboard in work, im sure you could find five quid for a bunch of flowers, explain to your nan that you had forgot her birthday and tell her the position that you r in, explaining to her that you will do something special for her as soon as you get paid, get her a card all the same and put an i.o.u in it, ive done that b4 today and thankfully the person saw the funny side of it, explain to her that she is special to you every day and not just on her birthday, change your attitude and that itself would make her happier than anything, if you were my grandchild, i would be more hurt that you gave me a box of pens from work than for the fact that you couldnt afford to buy me anything at all and be honest.

don't take pens just take yourself she will be made up to see you give her a big hug an wish her happy birthday ,even rob some flowers from a near my park better then black pens an the tenner i would give that a miss an stay skint .

Why don't you make her one of those really easy cakes you can buy from the supermarket (you only have to add milk and an egg) and take it round to her to have with a cup of tea- she'll think you're the best grandson ever and it will have cost you about £3!
