We are getting married in Southampton this winter in a registery office with 8 guests. The wedding is at 10am, we have no reception, does anyone have any ideas what we can do afterwards at that time in the morning. We do not live in Southampton so we are staying in a hotel. I never thought about what time the bar would open as originally we were having no guests. Please help!

I live in Southampton!! You're probably getting married in the same registry office as me!

Southampton has a lot of historical things u could do. Like have a walk around the walls or visit some of the museums that r situated pretty much next door to the registry office. There is also the West Quay shopping centre 5 mins walk away with plenty of shops and cafes.

If u need any more information please feel free to email me or msg me on my yahoo details.

Good luck for the wedding hope it turns out ok for you and all the best in ur future 2gether!

Have a look at this website for activities in the area: http://www.visit-southampton.co.uk/

Take some pictures... the link i have given, has a parks section, so maybe you can head to one that you like the look off, have have pictures taken on digital camera's. I'm sure you will see people walking there dogs, and wouldn't mind taking a picture of you all as a group..!

Have a look around for a nice Italian or Spanish Restaurant... it would be coming up to lunch time.. the link also has a restaurants section, dependant on your favourite food, why have a nice sit down meal..

..Threatre show in the evening ... there are two main threatres that the link mentions; Mayflower and Nuffield.. so how about going to watch a show in the evening...

Dependant on your age and preference the link has a nightlife section where you can go out to a local club... or if not how about going back to the hotel, and the bar should be open by then..

Prehaps not doing ALL those events... but maybe 1 or 2 have given your some ideas.

Congratulations and have a great day!

I think that you should look on the internet or ring the hotel where you are staying and find out what attractions are available. If you explain to the hotel that you are getting married they might be able to do you a nice wedding brunch.

Either that after the wedding all of you could go back to the hotel and have a drink and then stay there until lunchtime and then go to a nice restaurant and have lunch.

Find yourself a beautiful tea shop, have a great breakfast, I am sure if you book in advance they may be able to do you a champagne breakfast. After that walk around the town, take some pictures with your friends, by that time I am sure the bar at the hotel will be open for more champagne and some lunch.

you're so close to the port - see if you can charter a boat for a few hours' sailing, take a picnic on board and a bottle of bubbly. It will be a really new experience and make the day very memorable. You should be able to negotiate a good rate since there's probably little demand for sightseeing trips in the winter, so name your own price. Ask the local tourist board for some ideas too, they may be thrilled to help!

why dont you all go somewhere nice for breakfast and celebrate with some bucks fizz, then after that your guests could leave you and your husband to have some quality time together, then all meet up for dinner and then on to some bars to drink some more and then thats it,you can go back to the hotel and celebrate your night as mr and mrs.
Big congratulations on your day and i hope the weather stays nice for you xx

contact the local tourist board, they will give you lots of ideas.
i live in Glasgow and if it were me, i would go to somewhere like the winter gardens or the botanical gardens, there you could have arranged a modest brunch and have your guests take photographs against the beautiful surroundings.I dont doubt Southampton will have its equivelant and the tourist information are a wealth of knowledge, good luck

Well I suppose you could get on a boat & spend a day or two in France?
