Long tems effects of Restoril?

I have been taking restoril for about 3 months for insomnia. Lately I wake up at 2:30 am, and cannot fall back to sleep. Anyone else out there have experience with restoril??

Ambian messed up my sleep, this Restoril must be something new, I won't do Ambian again. For a long time after, I could only sleep 3 hours a night. Try 5 HTP at your health food store, but only if you stop the prescription drug medicine for your insomnia. Yes, I am taking same for past 8 years. At 54 I am really active, than my boys who are 23 & 21. I too occasionally wake up at 2.30 (I do not know the reason, since every one I know, who take this pill, wake up between 2 to 2.30 ). I consulted my Doc, who prescribed it to me. He accepted that in long run some nervous disorders are likely to happen, and in my case, as I do lot of physical work, and exercise, nothing to worry. But warned me not to stop taking at once. But advised to reduce the intake slowly. More over the pill is not a sleeping pill. It is only an antidepressant. What ever may be the conclusions, any pill is harmful in long run.
