I have been approached to look after a month old baby at night time. I know the parents well and they don't mind me watching the baby at my home, since I am married, a sleep-in position would not suite me, I also work full time during the day and therefor just watching the baby at night time so the parents can have a good nights rest a few nights a week would really help us financially. How much do au pairs or child minders/nannies charge per hour these days if they watch babies over night? I have done allot of babysitting but no small babies overnight and don't know what to charge. Please help me as I don't want to over or under charge.

I would recommend $10 a night if the child sleeps all night. If not, then $20. That's what my girlfriend charges. She runs a daycare out of her home with a few over-nighters.

For a month old child -- and all night then I would ask for like $50 bucks a night give or take depending on how many hours and so forth.

I would expect an hourly wage. At least minimum wage.
