A diet high in fiber is recommended. A couple of examples of things with fiber in it are breads that have whole grains in them such as from Nature Made. Fruits and veggies are also good for those of us who have IBS (I've had it for almost 11 years now).

Here's a link to a search I pulled thru one of the newsletters I get at about.com:

Bananas, Apples, Rice and Toast (for diarrhea)
Wheat bran (bran muffins), most veggies, All-bran (I use bran buds on yogurt-good snack), oatmeal, wholegrain breads, ground flaxseed (I make a smoothie with a spoon of flax in it--must be ground or whoosh right thru you), brown rice, brown pasta. These all have lots of "fibre" otherwise known as bulk.
AND LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER!!!!!! very important

I know it sounds strange to eat these things for diarrhea but it seems to work the opposite in regulating you and getting rid of the runs. You can use those Metamucil fibre like drinks but I'd rather use real foods.

Good Luck!!

Oh yeah, probiotics in yogurt are excellent for your digestive system and there are now alot of companies that have probiotics in their yogurts available in regular grocery stores.

Stay away from coffee, tea,(caffeine), high fat foods (fries etc), and often ice cream, and milk don't help at all.
