I love the fact that you love your cat enough to worry about her! Don't worry, it is only a routine operation and there is a very very very very very small chance of anything going wrong. She will be fine!
Give her my love (i <3 cats!)

She'll be fine. Spaying is now a very routine procedure. She'll be abit sore when you pick her up from the vet. Make sure that she does not engage in too much activity when she gets home so her incision will heal properly. And absolutely do not let her out of the house for at least 10 days.

Vets always always check the cat's vitals (heart especially) to see whether or not a particular cat will be at risk under anesthesia. If the cat is a poor candidate, the vet will tell you and refuse to perform the spaying.

Really, your kitty will be fine.

This is a very common practice procedure and gets done all the time.

Try not to freak out: If there are any issues/problems the vet will be the first one to alert you about such a thing.

If you're still worried:
- Speak with your veterinary technician/assistant/veterinarian about the procedure. I'm sure they will be more than glad to help reassure you that everything will be fine.

- Come back during daylight hours to check up on your cat and find out how she's doing.

~Hope this helps :)

In the 11 yrs I have been working in a vet surgery we have NEVER lost a cat while doing a spay.
Any anaesthetic is a risk if there is an underlying cardiac problem, however that is why we check heart and kept a strict watch while they are under anaesthetic.
Don't think the worse and if you are worried then call then and ask them to ring as soon as she is in wake up.

I know it's horrible leaving your baby at the vets, but please try not to worry too much! She's having a routine operation, one that the vets do a zillion times a day. Complications are very rare, and you should have her back the same day! Remember you really are doing her a favour, you'd have a lot more to be worried about if you weren't getting her spayed!

Hope all goes well, sure it will.

honestly the chances of something going wrong is next to nothing there is a risk with every op but the vet would have checked the cat was well enough for the operation and it is not a long op

Don't worry hun. My kitten Daisy, was 'done' just over a month ago. I collected her later the same day, & had 2 follow-up checks with the vet over the next two weeks.
She's fine. Just waiting for the shaved patch to grow back fully now.. :)

i took my cat 2 wks ago and i felt exactly the same..my cat was fine and came home with noi problems just a small cut on her side and a few stitches. i did have one problem though she came home and started biting at her stitches so had to go back and get her a cone collar so she couldnt reach. then a wk later the stitches were taken out. dont worry she will be fine :)

She will be fine, there is a small risk, but you don't need to worry about that, she will be home before you know it!

Did they tell you when they would be doing the op and when to call? My vet always says I'll be finished at X, call me then"

Don't be afraid to call and check, vets like that! I have had many done and *touch wood* haven't lost one yet.

This procedure is very common and I would not worry about it. It's done all the time. There is always THAT CHANCE, but highly unlikley. I had my kitten back in no time and he is fine and just the little monster that I love. Don't worry.
