Belief in Jesus Christ, and not any religion is what everyone should desire. Religion does not save anyone. Jesus does. As far as getting away with sin, the Bible says in Galatians 6:7 that God is not mocked. whatsoever a man soweth, that also shall he reap.
to illustrate:
There are two types of people which can be likened to two types of drivers.
the first has no regard for the law whatsoever. He never stops at stop signs or red lights, is constantly speeding, and basically lives as though the law does not exist.
Then there is the second type of driver. He does his best to following all the signs and warnings, but occasionally, he may not make that complete stop, or perhaps he accidently goes 5 miles or so over the speed limit. He is conscious of the law, but because he is human, he sometimes falls short.
Some people live their life as if the law (the bible) does not exist at all.
Then there are those who despite their best efforts, occasionally fall short. These are those that seek forgiveness, and try their best to do better next time.
It's like the saying goes, "Christians aren't perfect, they're forgiven."
Yes, 1 John 1:9 does say if we confess our sins, He will forgive us.
But what did the Apostle Paul write to the Romans? What, shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid! (Romans 6:1).
Also, Proverbs 28:13 tells us, "he who covers his sin shall never prosper, but he that confesseth AND FORSAKETH it shall receive mercy."
As far as works go, they can't save you. Salvation is by grace alone. Ephesians 2:8-9.

Don't you think that thinking we have to do some of the work for God to redeem us, is an insult to God?
He sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for your sin and mine - He died a most horrific death, but it was not just physically did He suffer on the cross. He suffered emotionally - when He cried out to God His Father "My God, My God why have you forsaken me". He took our sins and our sorrows, He made them His very own. Jesus paid the price for sin once and for all.
Yes, we each one of us need to respond to this, and ask for forgiveness and ask God to cleanse us. This is called repentance, which means to 'turn around' from the way we have lived, and have a new life in Christ, living our lives to please Him. We will then be convicted about things in our lives which we were not before, and this is the evidence that the Holy Spirit has taken up residence in our lives because we now belong to Christ. The Bible says "The old has gone, the new has come". We then go on to live in the power of the Holy Spirit, to live out the way which He would have us live.
The Bible says: It is by faith we are saved, through faith, not of works lest any man should boast.
God bless you!

Not sure what religion exactly. I'd just say it's a belief in "God." There are many people who don't really fit into any one religious category, but they still pray and believe in "God." And I myself agree that we are all human and that we have to do at least part of the work ourselves.

You would need to honestly ask yourself why you pick and choose which parts of the Bible to believe in. Perhaps you need to take the time to find out from other Christians answers that could bring you closer to accepting the Gospel. To those who sincerely seek God He will offer more of His light.

there is nothing wrong with praying alone. It's good that you have your own unqiue beliefs without following anyone elses word. The world needs more people like you. I can't respect people though that just believe everything they're spoon fed.

WoW WOW WOW brother that sounds all good to me. Its what I believe in and makes perfect sence. I believe in bible and torah and Injeel and Quran and I also believe in 10 commandments and that we cant rely wholely and solely on God since its efforts that also count..ofcourse we are blessed by God withb things that we didnt do any efort for like parents and money (most of us)..and a place to live ..food..but mostly its efforts since God said "For a human being , there is what he makes effort for", Come to think of it its our parents or grandparents effort that we today have what we have!
Since All 4 books are from God and tell about him and Quran is the latest. I beleive them all.
I beleive that Jesus did not die on the cross however ...why? coz in the latest book Quran it says that God took him and turned a bad person who disliked jesus to look like before crusification so he was crusified but not Jesus (PBUH
). I respect Jesus"(PBUH) just like I respect Moses (PBUH), and the last Prophet Mohammad(PBUH). And since Quran (God) forbids making differenciation among any Prophet ...I have to respect all of them.I do completely believe that all Prophets were human beings. The correct study of Bible reveals the same thing. Dr Zakar Naik did the study of all books and proved this too.
I am a Muslim.
EDIT: As a Muslim I believe that no one is accountable for the sins of another unless we are forced to comit a sin our heart does not like but if we dont give in ...we are forced or tortured..that God will forgive since he is oft forgiving.
It says in the Quran that the son is not answerable for the sins of his father nor the father is answerable for the sins of his son. Basically in places in Quran it is made clear that the wrath of the sins is on the person who commits them. How foolish (plzz excuse me to use this word) would it be to think that Jesus
(PBUH) tok away all our sins?? How then is a man who rapes his mother or someone else be given the punishment if he got away with it in this world. You see it doesnt make sense. WEven Jesus(PBUH) came to tell his ppl to not comit sins and to worship One and Only one God only! And you want to know more? The word TRINITY does not appear ANYWHERE in the BIBLE! Go check it out yourself! It comes in QURAN!! To tell humans that the CHRISTIANS believe ihn TRINITY! Which is wrong since God only God ALONE is to be worshiped! He has no sons no daughters he has no parents... He is not three in ONE he is JUST ONE! Single!
You see its all there but you have to remove the blind fold and see for urself. It doesnt say anything about randomly kiling NON-Muslims like ppl say. They misintepret it. Infact God emphasises on freedom of belief and it is a sin to not let christians go to church etc. A religion that gives ppl to practice their religion so freely! How can it command to kill non-muslims?? Does iotb make sense to u?? To anyone?

You're close to Islam (in some way).
Would you like to learn more?
Edit: For the guy above... I wasn't spoon fed of my religion, so it's safe for me to speak up without wondering whether I'm brainwashed or not.
Peace.
