There seems to be a bit of confusion here.
Lets try and sort that out.
First you should note, windows xp as an operating system is not Direct x 10 compatible. The latest version out for xp as I'm sure you are aware is the Direct x 9.0c.
This is not to say that hardware used to run xp, will not be Direct x 10 compatible. Most current xp systems can install Direct x 10, however no change will occur if using xp.
Direct x 10 was designed for faster graphical upload for the new Vista Aero graphics and gaming. Xp supports neither of these functions yet.
I hope this helps sort things out

yes , u can install it to windows Xp.
But i think it is not necessary to install Direct X 10 to Windows Xp Ser.pack 2. Because it already installed default.
but u install it no problem.
