I was on the Depo Injection which slowed down my metabolism... any ideas?

There are 3 steps to speed up your body's metabolic rate.

1.) Aerobic exercise: At least 30 minutes per day will do more to speed up your metabolism than anything else. You do need to monitor your pulse rate. *Take the figure 220, subtract your age, multiply that time .65 and .85 and that is how many beats per minute you are looking for to be in your "target zone".

2) Eat more. but smaller meals each day. This will allow for proper digestion and will aid your metabolic rate. Don't ever eat until you are full. Eat only a child size portion. Being hungry again in two hours is a good thing. Of course drink plenty of water.

3) Increase lean muscle mass: Studies have shown that increasing your muscle mass will aid in speeding up your metabolism and reducing body fat.

Also, get plenty of rest. Walking is the best simple aerobic exercise when impact is taken as a factor. Running will burn more calories, but consider the impact to your joints and organs. Swimming curiously does not reduce body fat, though is an excellent exercise to increase aerobic capacity. Increasing lean muscle mass is more commonly done by using weight training. Use light weights and 12-20 reps and you won't get bigger or mannish.

Exercise in empty stomach every morning and eat food in regular intervals. For example if u can eat 5 slices of bread eat it as 2+2+1 with soem 20 minutes gap.

This can help u to improve ur metabolism rate. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits for the same.

Do moderate exercizes for short spells several times a day, except when the stomach is full. This is bound to create energy demands and speed up metabolic rate

I need to speed up my metabolism a tad, I eat a little bit of sugary/fatty food and WOOOSH i put on a little weight!!
God! All i eat to keep myself in shape is rabbit food gah!

antioxidant-filled foods. Green tea.

also starving will greatly lower it.
