Do you need proof that you are a U.S. Citizen to fly in the U.S? because i became a citizen when i was 17..with my mother, and i didnt get any papers, i just was automaticaly transfterd with her...

Nowadays it probably is a good idea. Do you have a State ID? you can get one. Or a drivers license they both show that you are there legally. You could always just apply for a passport and that is accepted everywhere as proof of citizenship and is your best bet. Besides one day you might want to visit Canada or Mexico and would definately need it then.

No you just need some form of ID to prove who you are. You don't have to be a citizen to fly in the US therefore you do not need proof that you are a citizen. People come here from all over the world just to visit who are not citizens and are able to get on planes or how would they get back home.

To fly within the us boundaries, you don`t need any documents other than a state issued id, such as a drivers license, or ID card from your state motor vehicles. If you fly outside the US say to Canada, you need a passport, OK? hope this helped.

You just need a government issued picture I.D.
Drivers license, state i.d. or passport.
