For instance, why would you push away someone you care for and want to be with? How can you tell someone denies their feelings and what signs can you look for? I think people should just be honest about their feelings for someone, though I'm sure it's not easy. What do you think? Have you denied feelings for someone and why?

When things don't turn out the way you had envisioned, or if you feel so strongly for someone your natural reflex is to push them away. Usually this is a purely a desperation call, and isn't intended to "get rid of them".
I love my girlfriend so much that sometimes when it looks as if she favors someone over me, I get bitter and push her away. I don't mean for it, it's just a reflex to jealously.

Because you are scared to get hurt if things don't work out. Or also you are scared that you might do something to hurt the other person. Or, you are not ready for a relationship so you push the person away, even if you may actually like them. Some people just do not like to be in the pressure cooker of a relationship. I've had a relationship with someone and I was committed and he wasn't. He said I would just get hurt and I did.

Oh yea people do it all the time...they could be scared to get hurt. I mean after your heart has been broken somtimes its hard to let someone else in so easily, and talkin about it is hard too. The person could be too scared to let u know how they feel because they dont want u to hurt them.
