Was seeing a guy 2 years ago, he gave me broken promises as he was unsure of commitment. 2 years later i have been so much more successful and have brought a new house also. I just sent him a birthday text 2 years later as I had thought of him, just to be friendly and now he wants me back but something serious. Do I get back with him knowing what he did in the PAST. Would YOU if someone you really liked ended up giving empty promises and didn't commit because they probably knew they could end up hurting you in the past??

Like Dr. Phil says: Past behavior is the best prediction of future behavior. But, I have this to say. Was what he did in the past so wrong? Not wanting something serious isn't bad, not like cheating/beating you bad. Perhaps now that he is older he wants to have a serious relationship. In that case, give him another chance if you still have feelings for him.

Cut off all contact, don't answer his calls, don't see him, and dont e-mail or text him. Work on yourself and getting better. Make new friends so you have something to do. Then once your better you can start working on a relationship with someone else. Dont give them another chance, there is a reason it didn't work out the first time.

It depends on the depth of the situation and what caused the breakup in the first place. Humans constantly make mistakes and we should not hold each other accountable at all times. Like if someone said they didn't care about me and that led to a breakup, but that person came back, if I still had feelings I would reconsider. However, if someone cheated on me multiple times and basically just took advantage of me, I'd send them on their merry way.

I have and I wouldn't again. Some people are hard to get out of your head and we tend to air brush the guys in our lives...
There are probably reasons you broke up and guys can take advantage of lingering affection you may have for them.... With that said if you decide to consider it, make him really, really, WORK FOR IT!! It'll show you where he is at

Heck no. Wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. Unless he REALLY feels remorse for the past and wants to ACTIVELY make up for lost time...consider him toast (or fun if he's cute ;)
