If the Brits WERE in Iranian waters, then the Iranians would absolutely be justified in seizing them. Otherwise, no. I think the Iranians captured them because the US caught a couple of their Revolutionary Guards and a general in Iraq. The Iranians are probably going to use the Brits as a bartering chip to get their people back for starters. As far as torturing them, I could see the soles of their feet getting smacked by a bat a few times to get a, "We were wrong" answer under duress.

The UK Marines were well into Iraqi waters. The seizure was pure piratcy by Iran. With a nut as a leader who knows what might happen. The American Hostage crisis (20 yrs ago)took forever, this could develop into the same thing. Their pres was one of the hostage takers back then.

They are not justified. It's another act of piracy, an act of terrorism by an Islamic fundamentalist entity in the Middle East. They will be released within a week because UN sanctions against Iran is up for a vote this week for their nuke program. Iran is uncivilized and animalistic, and some day they are going to push the west's buttons to the point of regretting it.

No justification. Some Revolutionnary Guard is playing silly buggers- probably trying to get promoted.
What will Iran do? make loud noises for a few days then release them with a wink and a nod - some Iranian official will get on record as "moderate" and "reasonable", while UK will claim "navigational error" and all will be back to normal.

What will you do if you find someone entering your home without permission?
Iran should release them if UK says sorry.
Every country has a right of self defense and safeguard its security.
At best/worst, Iran might trade out something to get their persons back from UK if held with them.

Tony Blair will warn the Iranians that in the adventure that they don't launch the British pesonnel.................he will warn them again. Lol. Who in this earth could believe one be conscious that Tony Blair could say.......you for sure. have you ever no longer heard sufficient of Tony Blair's lies....nonetheless deluded, awaken . Iran has each suitable to detain overseas military workers in Iranian waters (purely Tony and the British press evaluate the waters to be no longer Iranian).

They should have warned them, told them where they were and to leave not take them hostage. It was one little boat with a squad from the sound of it not some invasion force. I don't agree with them taking those dudes hostage and if they've hurt those guys it's gonna be a bad day for Tehran.
