The same thing that happens to all the souls of non-Muslim people.
The soul awaits the day of judgment. Need I say more?

After the death,the soul of muslim and also non muslim will be brought by Allah assisted by angels and then will be put again to the burried/cremated body rested in the tomb as the waiting room or alam barzah before the resurrection day and the the day of final judgement by Allah.
In the tomb the soul will be questioned such as (1)who is your God (2)who is your prophet (3)what is your religion (4)what is your holy book (5)what is your life guide( 6)what are your doings
After answering those questions,the soul will be given a preliminary rewadrs or punishments while waiting in the waiting room.

Same what happening to the soul of non muslims...All have to face what they did here on the judgement day and accordingly will be rewarded or punished.

Nothing, because there is not an ethereal being existing in people. "Soul" is an interpretive word for "identity".

May Allaah's peace and blessing be uppon His SWT prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions
After the death, you'll be asked about your life, what you've done with it, in what did you spend it...You are going to be asked who was your Lord, who was your prophet and what was your faith. You'll also find out whether you'll be of dwellers of Jannat or Jahannam. And that till the Day of Judgmenet comes. Than everyone is going to be asked in front of Allah, for his deeds, and then he'll enter Jannat or Jahannam.

He/She is now in another world. He/She is living in the grave world. Where he/she will be question by god's angels. He/She will go to hell/heaven after the end of the world.
