How do you guys stay on track and not eat what you want?! I am 15, and my parents put me on a diet to fit into a nice dress for my brothers wedding on 7-7-07. I am not fat, no; I have been skinny most of my life. But I don't have any control, and need advice. How do YOU do it? I need to learn some self control.
Serious answers, please.

Well..its hard..one thing that has helped me is to keep a lot of fruit in my house and not buy snacks (you could ask your parents to do the same thing) that way when i am starving when i'd usually eat half a bag of chips i just grab some fruit and eat that. Is there any kind of fruit u love?? for ex, i love peaches so i just buy a bunch of those and look forward to eating it ALMOST as much as a bag of chips lol..

i dont think you should be on too extreme of a diet at 15 though. this is your time to enjoy eating w/e you want while your metabolism is still relatively high!!
it's always good to want to eat healthy though. just watch the junk food, especially a couple hrs before you go to bed..
also, drink lots of water and your stomach will feel more full

I'm a definite foodie. I have terrible control. :) But if you're eating the right things, like leafy greens. you can eat as much. Fruits are great but sometimes too sugary. I try not to purchase the bad stuff so i don't have it available to me. Your parents are probably telling you but they may not be helping you if they are the ones buying this stuff. I also found that drinking water or eating a bowl of cereal like Special K when i have a urge helps. If you want the mental aspect of control. Take a picture of yourself int eh dress and put it on the fridge. It will remind you of your goal. good luck. hey you know diet is not the only think that will help.. do a little dance and exercise.

Whenever you feel the urge to start bingeing on junk food, eat fruit & drink water instead of sodas. Don't starve yourself EAT when you're hungry. The key is moderation. Exercise never did anyone any harm so go for walks in your neighbourhood etc. You need at least a half hour of exercise a day.

hi i think you shouldnt worry to much just eat heaps of salads and stuff but exercise aswell get a bike go for a hour bike ride each day too easy also the original question control well you have to be firm with yourself you have to know when to say no just tell yourself firmly NO i will not eat that its all about will power mind over matter anyway i hope my question helps you

Do you emotional eat? It is hard to control what you eat, because typically unhealthy food makes you crave more of it. You simply have to think about what the food is doing to you.

Go back to nature. Eat for health and food rather than to feel good. Find other treats other than food.
