That got me thinking.. at first I was going to say a definite 'no' because I'd never wear one on a daily basis since regular clothes can be washed as easily as the apron, but the more I think about it, I would like a hostess apron.. something to put on while taking the turkey out of the oven at Xmas and similar occasions. And I would not want it to come from my husband.. but a mother, grandma, child, or girlfriend would be good :)

I got an apron in a gift basket at my wedding shower. The basket had all kinds of kitchen gadgets and spices and such with the apron! I love to cook and it has really come in handy over the years...especially when I was dressed up on a holiday and needed to protect what I was wearing while finishing up in the kitchen! I think it was the perfect gift....for a bridal shower, but I don't think I'd ever give one or want to receive one for a birthday or Christmas gift..unless of course I was buying for someone who made cooking as a career!

I just got an apron for my birthday. Its so cute, it has Domestic diva embroidered on it and my husband also got small ones for my two daughters that say Diva in Training! We love them! bBut I have also been looking at these same aprons for month everytime we are in the store and I wouldnt buy them for myself, so my husband did. I am not sure if he would actually buy me somthing like an apron if he hadnt seen me eyeing these constantly.

If my husband gave me one I would go out and buy him one. No I don't think an apron is a nice gift from anyone no matter how cute, or frilly. It is like buying someone a screwdriver, or hammer for a gift.
However seeing how many questions you ask about aprons I think you are hinting that you would like one. So I suggest that you ask all your relatives, and friends before your birthday that question and you will have enough for a life time. to wear yourself, and to give them as gifts. Then you can go out and buy yourself a long beautiful blond wig.
Happy fishing, hunting, and then cooking.(your fish, and deer)

I guess if I did a lot of cooking, it would be a good gift. More than anything, though, if someone thinks enough of me to give me a gift for any reason, the simple fact that they went to the trouble to do something for me is the REAL gift :-)
