Whenever i play golf, i get a water blister on my thumb of my right hand. i know its not supposed to be there beacuse i cant put too much presser on my right hand..(i'm right handed)..but somehow its gets there. I tried poping, but afterwords it really starts to hurt when you touch it (especially cuz its on my right hand thumb) and it looks NASTY. I was wondering if there are any things i could try to avoid getting a water blister..or how to get rid of it without the pain and the nasty scar. Thanks!

Blisters are typically caused by an improper grip and/or swing.

You can avoid a blister by wearing a glove on that hand, or use surgical tape before the round begins, and cover areas that you typically will blister.

Good news: after awhile your skin will get thick over time and you will no longer get blisters.

You need to change how you are gripping the club. There is a proper grip, it is easy to show but hard to describe. If you are not properly gripping the club, the club will twist in your hands causing you to push the ball to the right and develop a blister. Go to a Barnes and Noble and look up golf books. There should be some pictures on how you should be gripping the club. You may even be able to find something online. If you live near a Dick's sporting goods, you can even talk to the store pro and they will probably show you the correct grip.

The easiest way to learn golf like a pro is by following "The Simple Golf Swing" program. It's primarily a 31 page eBook that teaches golfers how to make solid contact with the ball, how to avoid hitting fat, how to avoid slicing, how get more power, accuracy, and consistency in your swing. Consistency being the number 1 golf skill.

You not only get the eBook though, you also receive a ton of extra material including video, lessons on putting, driving, chipping, sand play etc. Here is their official site: http://www.golfswingguru.net

One of the funniest was this man who was about 60, he looked like a homeless person but actually had a place to live. He obviously had some mental issues (but I'm not making fun of that). He walked all around and looked perfectly happy. I saw him in a Friendly's ice cream parlor one day sitting at the counter. He was eating an ice cream cone, had it all over his face, moustache, beard, and it just looked so cute because he didn't care, he was just lovin' it!

You have an improper grip if the problem dont stop then consider getting a glove for that hand.
